I had this really long post explaining the grueling process the last few days (since my NVidia P.O.S. died) but I decided to go short and sweet. Too bad, it was quite the epic heroic tale, lol.

So the short version: WinME, 3dfx Voodoo 3, Omega Drivers 1.03, DirectX9 working a-ok. An error in dxdiag that I'm not sure is related to anything. Direct3D - dxdiag says it works, Sims says dxdiag lies. What gives?

That was much more osk friendly, lol.

If that was too short and sweet, ask me for more. I could use a good rant about all the problems I've encountered in the last 2-3 days.

A little too short and sweet, I think, but points for trying. ;)

What's the exact text of the error message you're getting?

"Error: Problem getting extra sound info, result code = 0x80004005 (Generic failure)" <~~possibly unrelated dxdiag error (says sound, and my problem seems to be graphics)

"Error: Problem getting network info, result code = 0x80004003 (Generic failure)" <~~possibly unrelated dxdiag error 2 (just appeared when I ran diagnostics to recreate the first error. grrr... -=sighs=-)

and

"Failed to initialize Direct3D. Please make sure DirectX 9.0c has been installed on this system. The application will now terminate." <~~The one I get when opening the game. I'm running the newest version of directx straight from Microsoft.com as of about 4 hours ago. Direct3D is enabled and passes all tests.

P.S.: I <3 your curly cherub hair. :anime:
