My sims won't grow up

I moved three of my teen sims into college using the tool from the neighborhood screen to make a household. Once they got there, they didn't grow up into young adults, they stayed teens. They still have wants to go to college and when they go to the phone and call the college they can only apply for scholarships and review their current ones.
Help please?

Have you tried moving them out to the simbin and then back onto a lot? Had you used any aging cheats on any of these sims?

I've moved them in and out and I haven't used any aging cheats

You could try to teleport them to another lot in the base neighborhood and then send them to college via a computer or telephone. I would suggest Jordi's remake of Inge's Teleporter shrub/painting: http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=188501

I tried but the option to move to college wasn't on the phone

Have you checked to see if all of your hacks are updated for Seasons? It's most likely that or something in your user files got borked. Backup your entire My Docs/EA Games/Sims2 folder then go through the steps in this faq: http://db.modthesims2.com/article.php?t=139718 Let us know how that goes.

Another case:

I had this problem with three sibs. I had moved them into a "residential" house on the university lot and not a "dorm" house. They remained teens. When I switched living quarters to "dorm", they did become young adults.
