Only when they are sitting next to each other or EXACTLY across the table. And it's funny to watch a kid's reaction to that. (Of course the "kid in question was one of my kids by the Grim reaper who realized when she became a teen that the really hot man who happens to be married to mom is not actually a relative, so she may have other reasons for disliking that. )
hmm, I'll have to try that.
if they're like normal kids, they'd get all fussy: "Moooooom, stop embarassing me in front of my friennnnds." *chuckle*

Okay, so today I played the one household in my entire game that has a lawn gnome, and someone came along and stole it. No biggie, right? Then, late that night, the woman of the house woke up and started to walk outside. I was like, what the hell is she doing? She's in the last stage of pregnancy too. So I look at the command and it says something about recovering the lawn gnome. She left the lot like college sims do when they visit campus and when she comes back, a message pops up saying something like: "I've gotten my lawn gnome back. It's in my inventory." And sure enough, there it was. I thought it was really funny - I mean, come on, stealing a lawn gnome back from the person who stole it?

They LOVE doing that! If you put it back in the yard, someone else will steal it and start the whole cycle over. I had each member of the welcome wagon in one of my neighborhoods steal my gnomes one day. On the first day in the house!
I learned to stick with flamingos if I want the yard full of garden statuary. Or keep the 12 gnomes behind a fence. (You would think sims would learn not to steal gnomes from a yard which has gravestones all around the gnomes.)

yeah sims love lawn gnomes..i had a family that had one sitting in the back yard in a little "nook" made of the walls of the house and shrubbery and this one neighbor would come over every single day, all day and just do the sneeky looking around thing and watching the gnome..lol i think he wanted to steal it but thanks to its positioning he couldn't, so he just came to hang out with it all day long :D i love sims and thier obsessions.

Yeah, I've never had a gnome get stolen at all since I always put mine against a wall which for some reason stops them getting picked up. I did have one Sim ATTEMPT to steal it but he complained the wall was too close.

-When my sim got her first bump, she said something that sounded like 'wiv bubba?!' or that could've just been me lol.
-When my sim burped, the other sim sort of smelled her then had a look of digust on his face. Lol, he wasn't trying to be subtle there!

When you paint a still life or a portrait in the game, you can navigate to the Storytelling directory (The main one, not the neighborhood one) and find the last painting you made listed as "screenshot" and as "snapshot". You need to adjust the width to 300 from 600 though.

I had one sim drop off the flowers for the dream date when he got engaged to his fiancee, then return an hour later and steal her paper. The really cute thing was he had her face in a thought bubble with little hearts around it while he was doing it. I decided that he realized he was saving her the trouble of going outside and recycling it.

Griff Baity: Popularity sim, teen, red hair, brown eyes, light skin.
Sloppy 4

Grouchy 2
Not too bad, overall.
Then I looked at his skill set and had a small heart attack.

I found out that kids will throw table scraps to pets if they beg.
Not just kids. Any Sim can do it. If the pet's hunger bar is low enough and Sims are eating, they will go and beg for food. You actually only have a small window of time to see it because if the Sim is talking while they are eating, the action will cancel out.
I didn't know until recently that dogs can lick toddlers. It's very cute.
I also never knew that if you are on a date and a previous date comes by to drop off roses, they will get furious with you and run away with the roses. (Hey, I earned those 55 simoleons!)
If you kill a playable Sim with boolprop, you don't get any insurance. =(

They don't even have to be that hungry either -- I had a cat show hunger thought bubbles and beg for food when two adult sims were eating despite the fact that said cat's hunger was still in the green! I don't know if this is some new bug introduced in the Pets patch or a feature (if I had a dollar for every time this happened to me IRL, I'd be quite rich!)

I discovered one thing some time ago: When you take your sim to eat in a restaurant, and order food, and when the food comes to your table, other sims might STEAL IT!! It happened me twice; First time when this happened, I was playing one of my own sim; okay, I ordered her lobster, and the lobster was put in her table, and all of sudden, Komei Tellerman came, STOLE the lobster from her, took it to another table, and started eating IT!! Luckily, I managed to rescue the meal by throwing a drink on that ugly face of his.
Second time when this happened I was playing with Lilith Pleasant. I ordered her rib, and rib was delivered. But she couldnīt start eating, because this one bi**h tried to steal it, but she didnīt get, it was out of her reach. Okay, for 2-3 sim hour she tried to steal this rib, and I tried to put Lilith eat it! Luckily, she (thief) gave up and went away, so Lilith started to eat in peace.
But I am soooo ANGRY!!! :steam: :madashel: Damn thiefs, freeloaders! :swear: Bast*** Komei and that w***e are someday DEAD!!! :frying: :rip:

Yes, this happens quite often on community lots. I used to think it was funny to steal other Sim's food when it was me doing it to some NPC but when it started happening to my Sims or their dates, I got pissed off. You can download a hack from MATY to stop npcs from stealing your food. If you don't want to, then you just have to be on guard when your Sim gets their food delivered. If you see anyone walking to your table, pause and then shoo them away.

You mean the 2x2 lot with that rundown shack?
It's a cute house, but don't play it unless you have NL (or was it OfB?). Because the 2x2 lot isn't uncluded in the base game and Uni EP, the lot can become corrupted very easily. Not sure right now if the 2x2 lot came with NL or OfB...

Same reason why a lot of people didn't notice this lot. It's on the edge and can be overlooked very easily. I think that's what happened. Noone saw the lot until the game already was in the stores. And by that time it was too late to fix it.

i loved it because it was super small and perfect for my personal fantasy of living in a little house in the woods...but after losing a few sims i just stayed far way from it. it is much better than the house of fallen leaves for the 'what the heck just happened?!" factor..lol
and it is tiny but if you slap a 2nd story on it and just have the stairs outside the house it works out..you get a bedroom and a bathroom that way.

That is one of the handiest features of OFB. If you have one family whose job is to test the community lots you build, you can use family funds or motherlode to have them buy the lot. They can test out most of the lot and make changes while they are there. You can grab townies to be bartenders, djs, store clerks, etc. for a full staff. (You don't really care if they all end up unemployed after this, do you?) Then they can sell it back to the community once it is working right. You can even cheat them enough money to pay the salary and make needed improvements. Of course once it is owned you can only build on the lot while the owner is on it, so you still want to do as much as you can before anyone buys it.

It is an in-game hacking system which allows you to do all kinds of things to/with your sims from altering their life stage to making them pregnant with a child by someone they never met. For some people it is indispensable, for others it makes things too easy. But it is very handy to have it if you are making movies or taking pictures, because you can summon other sims, then take control of them so they will pose for your shot. You can have multiple controlled sims. Check out the Insiminator site for more details; there is a TON of stuff it can do.

The flowers around people with walking past a snapdragon are from the motive boost it's giving them. Sometimes they even autonomously get a 'to do" icon with the flower picture and the caption "smells yummy".

I was disapointed when it didn't snow enough for me to do any of the snow-related interactions during my first winter, but when a blizzard hit during the second winter and my game crashed (almost taking my whole computer with it), I decided I liked the wimpy winters better.
Gardening is pretty easy, especially if you build up to a gold badge. Put some sprinklers down, talk your plants up to "thriving", and then all you have to do is pull out weeds every now and then and there you go.
In a house where there's rooms in the "attic" you really have to make sure that the game considers it "indoors" during cold weather.. *grumble*
A sim fully dressed in outerwear can go outside to get the newspaper in the Fall and freeze to death on the way, while another sim can romp around outside for hours in her bathing suit mid-winter and be perfectly fine..
And finally, large families are really hard to take care of hack-free. I eventually just resorted to maxmotives + motivedecay off.

- Boolprop and "make selectable" is fantastic for so many things. You can put NPCs into college, you can select another sim in a community lot and make them buy clothes with the original Sim's income, you can trade furniture or other objects by having one Sim in one household put items into their inventory, and then on another household, invite that Sim over, make them selectable, and remove those things from their inventory.

i discovered that death isn't the release from earthly cares we were always told it was... i was playing my sim family from the story i was writing...the whole household was fishing in the pond...in the fall...(not sure how safe or hygenic it is to consume fish caught in a pond in an abandoned cemetary)...i was working on thier badges and the sun went down...and of course with about 10 real sim graves in the cemetary i got several ghosts drifting around the lot...then i noticed they looked kinda odd ...i thought ohh great a glitch... well it wasnt a "real" glitch but rather a somewhat silly maxis oops...as soon as my ghosts passed through the inner gate in the cemetary....they put on ghostly outer wear...it was pretty funny and i was thinking ..."hey guys...your dead ...you cant get much colder"
the game is awesome and im loving it...even if my ghosts do get cold now

I just noticed that earlier today too! Though I noticed it while reading simstories.
There are all these random things I keep running into. I'm mostly amazed because the only EP I have is Uni. I can only imagine all the stuff that'll be "new and amazing" once I can finally afford more EPs.

I discovered (actually a while ago) that having a Plant-sim for your controlled sim makes the Asylum Challenge a lot easier, since that sim doesn't have to sleep. I decided to mend this slightly by deleting her bed as though she had died, and by making her meditate for six hours a night while Lolita passed out on the floor. One of the already-dead sims got pissed and started haunting people because apparently I deleted his favorite bed.
I also discovered that a sim who passes out can end up in some pretty weird places-- one got stuck between the sofa and the adjacent living chair! I had to remove him using moveobjects.
I also discovered that I can't make a straight female sim to save my life. Which bothers me because the current heiress to my Legacy is a female, and I have my eyes on a specific guy I want in the family...
