I probably should have done it the other way 'round, as currently the brown floor is the "party" floor with the toys, and the green floor is full of library shelves, desks and computer banks. But oh well.

Kayleigh, those are Maxis' modular stairs (http://sumomo.modthesims2.com/download.php?t=53159) and they're very easy to build like that as long as you've installed scriptorum. Go for it!

Rasberry, do what I did - get inspired! Save pics from this thread of rooms you love and try to make rooms like that, or look at home decor websites and magazines and try to copy their rooms as best you can - it makes such a huge difference. :)

Humblebumble, I had NO idea Scriptorum existed - why didn't I learn about this before!! Sounds excellent! Does anyone have a link to it... I've googled it a few times and so far am only finding pages with people talking about it! But I think I neeed this! :D

Thank you model and beatdoc! Beatdoc I LOVE your lots, just thought I'd throw that out. I get a lot of mileage out of them in game. That kitchen is wonderful, cramped spaces are the best.

Kayleigh I think that kitchen looks really pretty! I adore kitchen islands. It makes me mad that I don't have any in real life.

I always feel like maxing out my Maxis match content when I'm here. For some reason I feel kinda dirty using so much CC normally among you sparse decorators.

It was going to be a simple trailer park.... but it turns out cramming everything a sim need into a 5x10 (or 4x9 if its diagonal) space is a really entertaining challenge. I meant to post on this thread sooner, but I got all distracted with the bag of poo that is the TS3 post on MATY. Anyhow:

Nissun - The kitten bed under the desk is an adorable idea.
bicycle - yay, zebra! And I swear I use that kittchen every third time I have to design one, because it always looks good.
CB15 - I adore the pink and green and cream together. Punchy but not abrasive.
CinnePin - The dining room/living room is very soothing, I especially like the dining chair recolors in the last pic.
CiaoAlora - I really like your use of the brick walls as interiors, I never remeber to do that kind of thing. Also your use of the carpet with the wood looks great, which it never does in my game.
Treejen - Is that bed a single mesh or a chair moveobject-ed onto a bed? Its such a good idea either way. Its also really impressive that you managed to use that much pink without it getting overly girly: very skillful indeed.

I'm trying to "makeover" all my favourite Sims' rooms to suit their personalities a bit better. This is where Elf and her family lives. Elf is a knowledge Sim and a little sloppy, which is why there are so many books around, and while her husband Colin isn't a neat freak, he does the brunt of the cleaning. They have 3 kids and live in a big apartment.

I truly love the new customizing feature for decorating, clothing, etc. Seems the choices are limitless! And matching is a sinch!

Lunar Eclipse's Ash Crimson has moved in a new house which I decided to decorate by mostly using stuff of one of my favourite creator, Adele. The house is big and was rather expensive even without furniture, poor Ash is rather tight with funds, so there's not much of a decor yet, but still I love the way his new house is turning out. I'm sorry for gloomy pictures :D

Gosh, momicajack, what struck me most is how beautiful the curtains are, that wooden thing they hang on, don't know what it's called in English. They add so much charm to your rooms. I wonder if there are similar custom curtains for Sims2 :/

Amairani, I had to get those curtains off the Sims 3 Store with my free points. I just got what I could with my 1000 points and those curtains in two sizes were a couple of the things I got. I really like them a lot and may be using them in a lot of my homes. You may notice that the window I covered those with is actually just a small window, but it centered perfectly so I put the large curtains over it and the effect turned out rather well. :)

Those are amazing, Tenielle and An_na. And, well, everybody else's rooms too. I'm glad to see that some people still try the sims 2 from time to time.

Here is an attic. I love the place so much I'm considering doing something I never thought I would consider: creating a self-sim and moving it there. =D But it's because of the view, I didn't know how to furnish it properly.

I dunno why it wouldnt work. I went to playtest it and the only people that showed up was the sim I was controlling, and the staff. It could have been a glitched lot, so I'm not sure.


Ilyia - I *think* they're a recolour of the Holysimoly curtains, and I'm about 56% sure they were from GOS. I'll take some more pictures, but most of the rooms are just a variation on 4 room shapes to fit into the buildings footprint ;)

I have noticed that Maxis people would place gardening stuff in the background (example in the intro video) and without Apartment Life expansion pack, Maxis would have white wallpaper on the second and third story to cover up the sky. So, from that, I could create a realistic-looking house. I thank Maxis for allowing players to edit the cameras, because I could drop my camera to the floor in cameraman mode. Woohoo!

You used phoenixphaerie's awesome modern Georgian set! Though the Georgian set cannot really be used as an expansion set for the Maxis colonial set (Georgian set windows are much larger than Maxis windows and etc.), it is still a nice set that is very elegantly done. :p
