It's kinda different than my usual style, but that can be a good thing, and since downloading the Apple Store stuff off MTS2, I was able to get the fencing how I wanted it. Anyhoo...

Wow! Everyone here is so talented! Everything looks awesome :D

This is a lot I just did last night. Didn't even know where it was going until I got started. Had some trouble getting good shot because of the phenom of the Mexican jumping screen...lol...but I think I got a couple good ones so you get the idea. I got tired of the same old floorplans, and I have 8 Sims on this lot, so with the help of Lizzloves beds I decided to build a commune type of lot with 4 cottages and a commons building. It is 100% playable and with the right hacks and objects, 100% autonomous and profitable! :cool:

Thanks! Unfortunately, I never upload my houses anymore because I can't be bothered with all the cc drama. Also, the original lot was developed by another person, all I did was the landscapeing and decorating. If you register at the Simvention forum, you can get the original; which I don't think had any cc.

This is a house (or should we call it a shack? xD At least that was the look I was aiming for with it) that I made for Ferne Grace. (http://forums.sims2community.com/showpost.php?p=1239903&postcount=416) I'm not so good with the building, as you can see, and it was my first try at... you know... landscaping. If it can even be called that. xD Now I look at everyone elses' and clearly epic fail.

Well, I don't see any plants other than game stuff, so that always makes it seem like epic fail; I think it's very difficult to make gardens look good with no plant cc unfortunately; believe me, I've tried . At least you tried to give the terain some interest by adding the hills and valleys. One of the tricks I've learned works quite well is to use the "sparse and spotty" terrain inside all the shadowed areas, and to use one of the dirt terrains at the base of trees and shrubs, with a bit of a bulge again in the shaded area "behind" the plant. The only thing I'd really change right now though is the roof slope angle, it's a bit steep for the style of house.

This one is the harbour from my hood, Bookes Gate.It was a dilapidated old boardwalk strewn with empty warehouses until I decided to renovate it a little.
Now its a peaceful little community shopping centre, that sells off goods at cheap prices, cause shipments of new merchandise arrive at the new commercial piers just a bit up the road.

I'd imagine this lot would be awesome with Apartment Life! A whole community in one lot - brilliant.

It'd also seem quite seamless if you could get all the houses occupied with your own Sims/NPC neighbours and all the businesses running. I'm not sure how business would work in an Apartment Life settings, for example if there was a grocery store, but it's an awesome prospect none the less.

Here is a Apartment Complex that I built for my sims in preparation of Apartment Life. So here it is! Each unit has 3 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms. They also have a large kitchen/dining room with a family room attached. They are all 3 floors each (including basement) and have a small backyard attached to each unit. All units will be fully furnished for my sims using mostly IKEA Furniture from the IKEA Stuff Pack. I've been working on this for a long time, and it's still not done. lol

It's functional, there are ladder stairs up to the top of the green section. It's a community lot, with a maze, decorative pools, topiary and chess lawn. :)

I opened one of my two minimalism books at a random page this morning and when I saw the building I said: "Hey, I can make this in the sims!"

It's not that easy, tough. I'm not very happy with the result. I've tried copying minimalist buildings on the sims before, and the result just doesn't work. Anyways. I made this an apartment building, despite the fact that I won't be getting apartment life any time soon.

It's inspired by an office building in Austria, from the Baumschlager & Eberle architecture studio. I can't find any pictures of this building, so I may scan them from my book and post them later. This sim-version doesn't do it justice.

Just a normal house I built today. I don't normally take aslong as I did but I love how it came out and I'm actually using it aswell (normally I build houses and then don't use them, but I like this one).

It's not funished in this pic but I have furnished it now so I might have some pics to post soon. The upstairs hallway is a gallery style hallway, so it's narrow with windows on each side so you can basically see right through from the front balcony to the back balcony.

Second What's your secret to making great houses and buildings, all mine come out incredibley dumb and have no imagination. What do you do to make it nice?

I could just be one of those people who download others houses and decarate them (Im pretty good at that), but I want to make my own but I cant seem to make them like you do.

Thank you! I followed the tutorial this morning before I went to work. I have not finished it but I will when I get home and post it here, I didnt do the roof the way BoolProp showed it because it kept making the roof be inside the house so I just did the automatic roof and it worked. The house came out pretty good.

Babolat: You're hot. LOVE that Art Deco apartment. Love art deco in general (Grim Fandango, anyone?), but can never seem to pull it off. Do you use source pics, or do you just pull your buildings straight out of your head? You have amazing talent. I know I've said that before, but every picture you post seems to be even better than before. (Not bad for a 83 year old, tiny Sicillian woman...!)

Paradise: I'm inlove with the little frogs on the side of your fountain. Just letting you know - I fully intend to steal that idea. Also really like your park - the variety of twisting tree trunks in that first pic is lovely; really romantic.

Apparently, there are thousands if not millions of people that installed this crap and if infected thier machines.
