so i just started using this to try it out. you can make content for damn near every game with this program but i ran into a small problem...
When i import a sim (or literally any of my meshes) i get this...(this was partially painted, although)

importing any format yields this.
i realize that when the uvw values are split on the texture-map, the program spits the normals into different smoothing groups (as seen with the front and back of the pants). The real problem is when i paint the skin weights they wont blend over those schisms or wont even paint sections that were isolated. This isnt directly sim related, so i apologize ahead of time, but i didn't know where to post it.
I know there are a few of you fluent in 3ds. im using 2010
