Dreams/Nightmares

Has ANYBODY experienced these things yet? I was under the impression sims were supposed to have really good dreams or really bad dreams that will leave them with some kind of moodlet... I've tried showing my sim child scary TV before bed but it's not working. Do they only get nightmares from ghost stories?

I'm not sure. I had my Sim LITERALLY tell his daughter ghost stories ALL DAY and that night, she got NO nightmare moodlet.

I have been trying for a nightmare also, but no success. I wonder if coward sims are more prone to them?

When the sim is sleeping you have to click on the bed and choose what to dream about. There's a random chance that it will be a nightmare.

I had no idea this exists. I thought dreams (the bubble that appears on top of their heads) are total random, or at least not controllable by us players.

I am going to try it out.

I tried clicking on the bed, but there wasn't any options for anything like that! Also, this sim in question IS a coward! That's why I was hoping after the scary TV he would have a nightmare but no dice.

Both of my teen sims have the option to "dream about..." pretty much every night when I click on their bed. I haven't tried using it on children or adults. I only just noticed it when I accidentally clicked on one of their beds. Neither of them were cowards. They didn't have anything out of the ordinary as far as traits go or moodlets either.

EDIT: Click on their bed while they are sleeping. Not just clicking on it.

They did dreams in medieval so maybe this is a new feature. I haven't noticed it. Then again with my sims having 3 small kids, not a lot of time to spend watching them sleep!

In my family, this works for child and teen sims, but not for YA and Adult sims. You have to have the sleeping sim selected when you click his/her bed.

Has anybody been able to direct adult dreams? :)

It works for children and teens, but not toddlers, and not YAs and up! I have no idea why they wouldn't include the feature for those ages, it seems a little bit odd! LOL But hey, at least I got it working though I have yet to see a nightmare. It does seem, though, like the sims will sleep through the whole night regardless and just get a moodlet after their full nights rest.

I miss the days of sims 2 nightmares, when your sim would pop up all scared for a few seconds before going back to sleep, am I right? :P
