View Full Version : Toddler fell from the sky out of nowhere... has this happened to you?

Okay, so the toddler didn't literally fall from the sky but he might as well have. I was playing a girlfriend/boyfriend couple. She's in the daycare profession, he's in the military. During live play, suddenly a little green box pops up underneath their thumbnail images with a picture of a toddler. When I located the toddler, it turns out he was several blocks away from the house.

In his relationship panel, he's related only to the man and apparently has no mother. The kid has black hair and dark skin despite the man being a blonde.

Why did this toddler just spawn out of nowhere during a live game? I assume lots of toddlers are needed for the daycare profession but it was just a little weird to have it happen during live play.

I don't suppose you have any mods that allow for teen woohoo/pregnancy? Though not having a mother does sound extremely odd! Sounds like a gift from the stork!

^^^^
Only mods are Twallan's ErrorTrap, Master Controller, and Overwatch because my horribly glitchy game can't even run without them!

Ok that's wild. Story Progression gone mad?

Have they travelled recently? Was the male sim a non-playable that you asked to move in, or has he always been in your playable family? I was just thinking that this could either be an EA Story Progression parthinogenic baby or perhaps due to that glitch with WA.

What is this glitch you are speaking of?

He's always been a playable character... the son of a legacy family. He hasn't traveled either.

I think it has something to do with the amount of toddlers needed for the daycare profession. A few new families that have moved into my hood have toddlers... including one poor single dude with three toddlers. Maybe the game is just spawning them left and right, particularly because I have my toddlers set to age up within just a few days.

I don't mind, but I kind of wish this toddler at all looked related to my Sim! Oh well.

Unlikely to be an EA miraculous conception, as they are usually clones of the mother. Doesn't the WA glitch only relate you to foreign sims when it seeds new Sims from the home neighbourhood? I've never heard of it dumping new Sims in the home neighbourhood before.

That would be my guess

severedsolo, I've seen males have instant offspring with EA Story Progression, too (although the word 'parthinogenic' would be wrong for that!)

Ben, the glitch I was thinking of is when your sim travels and a foreign local dies, and their orphans get miraculously grafted onto your sim's family tree.

However, it seems that neither could apply in this case. Secretsim, I think your explanation is more feasible- the game will spawn co-workers so it sounds logical that the daycare profession will spawn subjects. You could always graft the child onto some other sim family using Twallan's Master Controller to change the family tree.
