Can anyone please tell me if there is another Sims 2 Hack Conflict Detection Utility hack out? I downloaded the one from http://www.simwardrobe.com and it doesn't work for me. When I tried to run the scan I get a "fatal error" that say's Can not find Sims 2 data path!. I don't understand what is going on because it has worked before.

What is the full path for your save game? Is it non-standard, for example does it have a trademark symbol in it?

In your documents folder- so, for example, C:\ Users\ username\ Documents\ EA Games\ The Sims 2.

Copy the path here. I'm thinking that the HCDU is having problems with your path, so I'd like to see it.
Has your game changed since the HCDU worked? For example, have you installed any EPs or SPs, especially collection packs?

I sorry I tried everything I was told to do and I still don't get it, I went into my documents and I don't see a folder that has anything to do with a saved path of the game. I also don't have any new EPs or SPs and I id not install any collection packs, I am going crazy tying to figure out what is wrong.

Under your Documents folder, is there a folder named "EA Games"? If so, what are the names of the subfolders under that folder?

Is it spelled exactly like that? the sims 2 double deluxe? It's not The Sims 2 Double Deluxe? Or The Sims 2™ Double Deluxe?

Since you are obviously having problems following our instructions, I decided to run some tests to see whether the HCDU is able to handle save game paths which contain trademark ™ symbols. It is. Therefore, my initial theory about your problem was incorrect.
However, I have determined that the HCDU does not check the registry for the correct Sims 2 DisplayName (in your case, probably "The Sims 2™ Double Deluxe", as whiterider suggested) and instead always uses the save game subfolder name (DisplayName) "The Sims 2".
If you want to use the HCDU on your installation, you will have to temporarily rename your "Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2™ Double Deluxe" to "Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2".
However, I cannot recommend that you do this, because it may muck up your save game if you do it incorrectly.
