Create a World - Splash Screen, then nothing.

Ok, I haz a problem! I uninstalled Ambitions today and re-installed World Adventures as I wanted the new world I'm working on to have WA content. Unfortunately, now every time I try to launch CAW, the splash screen shows, and then closes, like I did nothing.

I'm using windows XP, my BG is level 1.24.3 and my WA is level 2.17.2 and CAW is level 1.11.12. I had custom Twinbrook objects installed in CAW, but I deleted them and reverted the resourse.cfg to its original form.

Try re-downloading and re-installing CAW. That would definitely be my suggestion.

Also, if that doesn't work, I have discovered that you can use the Any Game Starter to have a world only use selected content. Or at least, its been that way when I've tested. In other words, if you use Any Game Starter while you have all your expansions installed, and then you follow the instructions on that page for "creating a base game compatible world", but add WA instead of just basegame, it should work. :)

Thanks for the reply, TVR- just to clarify, Alan_Gast had deleted this thread as solved, and I un-deleted it to post a message to him and then got distracted and forgot... :faceslap:

Anyway, what I wanted to say to Alan_Gast was- please if you manage to solve a problem, just post a link or short explanation to how you solved it instead of deleting, as that would help other people to fix their own games. :)

Okay, so I'm having this problem too. I open CAW and the start screen appears and then disappears and CAW just closes. I've already done what this (http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=450303) suggests. But I don't know what else to do. I have Generations, the latest patch of both the game and CAW. I hope someone can help me!

I had the same problem, and clearing my Cache files & my Virtual Store files did the trick for me.

Thanks. It worked. The screen won't disappear anymore. But I'm still having issues. It won't load at all. The screen appears but that's all. Is there anything that would help?
