I apologize if I am posting this in the wrong spot, or if it is covered somewhere on this site. I have looked and tried searching but I am very very new to Mod the Sims and a little disoriented.
I have what I think is a very simple question. What I would like to do is change the names list from which new sims are named. So, for example, sims that I am not controlling but live in my neighbourhood have a baby - I want to impact what the baby is named without having to switch to that family and change the baby's name. I don't want to determine the baby's name specifically (ie. make sure it is named Joe), just create the pool of options that it could be named from (ie make sure it is named Joe, Phil, Bob, Marty, Jin, etc.)
What I need help with then is a) finding the file where the list of current sims name possibilities are (if it exists) and b) having someone who knows what their doing when they mess with program files confirm that all I would need to do is input my own list once I find said file.
Make sense? Obviously I'm very new to all this. I'm happy to listen and learn - computers don't scare me! - but I also have no experience. Definitely let me know if I'm completely confused about how to go about doing what I'm trying to do!
