Peter has found out he is missing things that need fixing in s3pe because the search for changes has been restricted compared with what it used to be. He doesn't manage to check once a month, which is as far back as it goes. Is there any other way to search that would extend this time limit?

As far as I know, a month is the limit within the UI - and always has been with MediaWiki. As usual, though, the quick and dirty hack works. Alter the URL:
http://simswiki.info/index.php?title=Special:RecentChanges&limit=2000&days=100&namespace=12
Limit is the number of changes; days is, well, days; and the namespace ID can be found by choosing a namespace from the dropdown on the regular recent changes page. Please do be a bit gentle with it, though, 'cause I think it nearly popped an artery when I started requesting more than 1000 changes...

Is it the namespace that made all the difference? Cos I tried with just changing limit and days and it still only gave the last 30 days. But using a namespace does change the situation! That wouldn't have occurred to me spontaneously :)

No - I was actually testing without the namespace, and only added it at the last minute, since I figured it might be useful. Using the above URL without the namespace gives me changes going back to August.

I wonder if there is a difference for staff, cos Peter and I can only get the 30 days by changing the default search url. Today, my earliest retrievals were 30th Sept. But I can get back to August using the namespace.
