When can I smooch a cat?

My cat lover sim frequently has the wish "smooch the cat", yet she never has that option with either of her cats (one is her BFF and the other is her BF). Her husband, who does not have cat/animal lover trait, has that option from time to time. Can anyone tell me how to make the smooch option show up, or why it will never be? Thanks!

BTW, I have no mod in the game except decensor.

I think my sim has to pick up the cat first and hold it before the Smooch option comes up.

Nope. My male sim has the option of smooch when the cat is on the floor. Actually I don't recall seeing that option when the cat is held by him. For my female (with cat lover trait and better relationships with the cats), the option never show up, no matter the cat is on the floor or in her arms :/

Haha, you guys/gals are funny... Nope not the answer though. These cats have been in the family, be BFF with the wife for weeks. And the wife usually brush her teeth but husband never. Yet the cats let him smooch them (the cats both have learned clean trait) but not her.

Yes, they are. One of mine pees anywhere she pleases, and she's even spayed. Anyways, I've never even heard of being able to smooch a cat, but when I first installed Pets, I found that I would have to go and redownload ALL of my hair and clothes that I had found, because whenever I tried to ride a horse, nothing popped up. I couldn't even pet it. Maybe you have something that is effecting your sim's "Cat smooching" abilities?

I think the smooch option for the cat is like the kiss option for the wife. You need to warm her up first. Try to play with/pet/brush them for a while.

Now tell me that. I'm owned by two of these fickle creatures :) Good thing is I can smooch them any time I like because I'm the bigger and stronger one, and they are disarmed (I frequently clip their nails).

I think I've tried to warm up my cats before, but, let me try again. Maybe they were not warm enough XD

Yeah, I wasn't sure why the cc would do that, but it had to be that, because it worked fine after I uninstalled everything :rolleyes: and it worked fine after I installed the newer versions... :wtf:

The relationship between the Sim human and the cat has to be about 3/4 in the positive before the smoochie option appears.

My sim cat just refuses to be smooched as well... I never get the option.
I assumed it was because my sim, on her own, decided to "bathe pet" and tried to put him into the bathtub.
He scratched her all up! Since then, he hides all the time and wont have much to do with my sim or the other pets.
It's probably good that he hides though because for some reason, every time I leave my sim with nothing to do, she decided she wants to bathe the cat.
I stop the interaction before she can make good on it if I see her about to do that... because the cat already hates her and I know in real life if I tried to bathe my cat it would probably end up much the same...covered in scratches. lol

I think my sim smooches his cat after he feeds the cat some cookies or plays with the cat for a while.
Sometimes you need to have higher relationship before you smooch your cat (if the cat is not so friendly)
