I'm a bit stuck on the roads in Devil's Canyon. Here it is with the sidewalk opacity as it should be:

and here with the road opacity

- the road looks much better but that crosswalk looks terrible. Has anyone mastered the dirt road as the EA files aren't good. I'd like to be able to go with the road opacity files but soften the look of the whole intersection.
I can't believe it's meant to look that awful and am thinking that perhaps it's something I'm doing wrong? Any ideas?

No, you're not doing anything wrong- the roads always look that bad, due to the way the corner intersections are mapped. If you use any kind of transparency for the sidewalks/ road, you will have problems.
What you could try is to either disguise the corners with some matching terrain paint, or else try using a different custom road for the intersection. Or you could use a combination of both.
The difference in colour between the road and the intersection is caused by the 'detail' texture you are using- as there is no 'detail' applied to the intersection. So if you used a custom road with a lighter colour for the intersection, you can disguise that a little.

Terrain paints- yes, I should have thought of that. Well some of the weird corners will be painted over and some wont. So for the ones that wouldn't I flipped the intersection dds 180 degrees and it looks a bit better. So this example has 2 points (N&E) painted over and S&W corners have been flipped.

Now to lighten the intersection itself... and this is meant to be simple. It's the flyover soon - Lord help me!

Good work! It looks much better. I really wish EA had made the intersections differently, you can get such good effects for roads, but often the intersections ruin it.

Which intersection dds did you flip? I'm currently loosing my nerves with this same thing.:)

Unfortunately it only rotates some of the corners but these are the ones it won't let me paint over so it helps a bit. I have attached the flipped file if anyone wants it.

Thank you so much for the file. For what I could see from your pics, it makes a world of difference. :)
