I opened the Sims 2 today to discover one of my characters was showing that he has graduated and has 60 hours to leave campus but he already had moved into town and had a job. His housemate, who graduated from university at the same time was still showing his age and his job. I decided to run the lot for a while and the timeline showing he had 60 hours never changed. I don't remember if i exited without saving on this lot, but i did have him find a new place to live as this often works in university when a sim's capacity meter is stuck (the meter that gets more as they build correct skills). I moved him into a new apartment and he still had the problem. At this point i exited without saving and came back in and the problem persisted.

For some reason i opened a family in the same building and both of them were showing university as well, where previously they were having jobs, and they even have a baby. I exited without saving and the problem remained. I tried using the tombstone of L&D to age them and while the timeline resolved instead of becoming adults they became elders. I exited without saving.

I don't use mods or hacks at all. I patched the entire game when i loaded the files onto my new computer a few months ago. I have two downloads from the EA exchange that i used on my previous computer without issue. I have not yet loaded my previous neighborhoods from the old computer, i've just been playing a neighborhood i had never used before. I followed the tutorial here for solving game problems up to the point where i removed the user files and then it suggested playing until the same problem occurred and i don't know how to do that, so i stopped that tutorial.

I have tried to re-download patches but my internet has been working sporadically so have not been able to succeed with that yet.

I have the following EPs: Double Deluxe, University, OFB, Seasons, Bon Voyage and Apartment Life.

Thank you for any suggestions!

p.s. Apologies, was trying to put this in the "help" section and it is showing OS X and i don't know what that means, i hope it's in the right place.
