Im sorry if this is in the wrong section or if Im not even allowed to ask about SimPE on here, but I have a small problem that I couldnt find an answer to on the internet so I decided to ask here.

Ok, so at the moment, Im replacing default eyes using SimPE. I've done everything correctly because the eyes show up in my game.

I noticed that the eyes were blurred. So I go back into SimPE and I see that the texture image was slightly blurred too so I try and fix it. I import the .png onto the eyes and they are fine again. I press 'commit' after each one and they are still fine.

But when I click 'save', the texture blurs again. I cant think why it is doing this. Im pretty sure I have done everything correctly. Incase you want to know what I done...

1.Opened SimPE (Version 0.73.44.37511. Lastest version)
2.Opened the eye textures I wanted as defaults and Exported an image of each of them.
3.Opened the default package eyes and Imported the .pngs onto each texture
4.Pressed 'commit' after each one
5.Saved

I have all the stuff packs and expansion packs and have custom content but I dont think that has anything to do with it. I really dont know whats going on.

Im doing this because I want mismatched eyes in my game. I came across Hysterical Paroxysms 'Matched Mismatched Eyes' and saw it used the defaults eyes instead of you having to recolour General Zoi's Cyborg Eye. I liked this idea and decided that I needed a set of defaults I liked. I like Oepu's maxis-match eyes but after a while I decided to recolour them. I did this fine. Its only now that I want to use my recolours as defaults and there's just something small in the way.

I guess what I want to know is :

'Why are the textures blurring after I press 'commit'? and 'Is there a way to fix it?'

I would really appreciate any help because I have been trying to fix it over the past few days without any luck. Thanks in advance.

Instead of importing the texture, use Build DTX.

To use Build DXT (which will solve your problem) you'll need the Nvidia DDS Utilities.

I knew it was something simple.

I had heard about using DDS Utilities but I dont know why I never went and downloaded it.

Thank you so much for answering so quickly. I didnt think it would be that fast!

Hopefully, everything will go as planned from here. Thanks again!
