HELP! Since I installed Generations, I've been having this problem. I can't buy anything! Even doors, windows, etc. on build mode. When I want to have a certain thing like a bed, I hover my mouse to the bed symbol but you can't click it. It says "Beds Not available for this type of lot"

:faceslap: :faceslap: :faceslap: :faceslap:

Please help.

Hey, again. I did everything and even uninstalled the expansion. When I played the base game, it still won't let me buy. Help! :wtf:

Is this a Residential Lot or a Community Lot?
Can we have a picture?

Residential lot. It's my house.

Can't have a picture. The game loads for over an hour and irritates me. Whenever I click a category like dressers or such, nothing will be appearing on the catalog.

General - Post System Specs
We need more information before we can help with your issue.
Please post a Quick summary of your System Specs
Instructions on finding them are here: Game Help:System Specs.
Please Do NOT post your complete DxDiag report in your thread.

Do you include mods/hacks in the no cc part? This is a pure 100% vanilla game?

Missing all objects in all Categories on both Buy (both Room and Category) and Build modes? Not only that it lags when loading the catalog, but the objects themselves do not appear? There's nothing in the Catalogs, at all? Does this happen in CAS?
And this occurs in all Residential Lot, or just the one? Even on any EA default Household, or just one you build yourself? What world are you playing?
And you've tested that this occur in a brand new game, from the Game Problem FAQ above? In any EA default world?

What patch version is the base game on?

Game Help:TS3_Patching Find Gameversion
Game Help:Patch_Table

Normally, when a game takes an hour to load, it's either a CC issue, an underpowered system, or there's a broken file in the program data somewhere (incomplete, interrupted install) once you've ruled out CC. You can use Process Monitor (http://simswiki.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:Package_File_Lag) in the Package File Lag article linked in Game_Help:TS3_Load_Issues#Long_loading_times. So, if the wiki articles don't help, please post specs.

Hello. I'm sure it's not a CC problem. All buy modes in any residential lots have this problem. When I got to the collections button, only the Generations stuff are there and nothing more. Help?

Good. We have ruled out one possibility. Unfortunately it was the easiest possibility to fix... (Are you sure you don't want to double check the CC? Taking out something you didn't know you had and therefore weren't using anyway is simpler than uninstalling/reinstalling the game, or buying a new computer. And even if it is a corrupt save, some of it might still be salvageable.)

Of course if you already -have- double checked both the CC and the user files by moving them out temporarily and starting a brand new, vanilla game, we do need a quick summary of the system specs to help determine what is going wrong. (Move both the Mods folder and the DCDache/DCBackup out. If that solves it, something sneaked into your game.

I have good news and bad news.

The good news is that indeed CC is not at fault. :) Especially, if that Lot is correctly classified as a Residential one.

The bad news is that the laptop is not equipped to run this game. It has Windows Home Basic (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-MY/windows7/products/compare?T1=tab03) as the Operating System. And if you look at the feature comparison table (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-MY/windows7/products/compare?T1=tab15), you'll notice one of the features that has been disabled is Aero (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-MY/windows7/products/features/aero). Aero is a "desktop experience (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-MY/windows7/What-is-the-Aero-desktop-experience)" that allows you to play with windows animations and translucency. Now, if a machine cannot even handle a "desktop experience", it cannot handle a 3D game that is resource-intensive like The Sims 3.

I could suggest a different Windows "flavor" (if you desire to purchase one), but as per specs @acer site (http://support.acer.com/acerpanam/notebook/2011/Acer/Aspire/Aspire4750G/Aspire4750Gsp2.shtml#sup_2), this laptop may or may not have switchable graphics. And the GPU model(s) offered are also not supported in the Wiki table (see SysReq link in my signature).
As the Processor the DxDiag report states a different variant than what Acer listed on that page, I believe you might have a different sub-model number, and as the report you posted is incomplete, I cannot tell. So, bottomline is: this laptop cannot run this game. Which in one fell swoop explains all the issues you're experiencing - the loading lags, the images not loading, etc.

So sorry. :(
