Hi everyone,
while playing around with simsample's great tutorial on how to replace the global layer of a world, I came across something interesting: If you exchange the global layer for a clean one - see the tute here (http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=473791&goto=lastpost) on how to do this, it is really fairly easy - afterwards, you're able to delete any lot right in CAW, even if there are houses/objects/Sims whatever on it! No need to fire up EIG and delete those lots painstakingly one by one, you can actually kill of all lots by just deleting their layer once you cleaned the global layer. It's really so much easier!
Reason is simple - if you try to delete a lot with buildings on it in CAW, CAW always says something like: Can't delete objects on the global layer, right? Now, since the global layer is clean and devoid of any of those weird useless objects that are somehow linked to lots, the message doesn't pop up anymore and everything works just fine. So far, I haven't come across any negative side effects.
