View Full Version : What kind of CC are you addicted to?

I saw this on the sims 2 discussion page, and decided to steal it. Mostly because I'm curious, and stuff. So, what's your CC addiction?

Mine would definitely have to be pose packs. I don't know why, but I am addicted to finding them, scooping them up, and then spend hours taking pictures!

Hair styles and clothing.
If I was a story writer/movie maker I would use poses. In game, tho, I see no purpose for them. I mean, I downloaded the pose player and some poses and found that I had to use "moveobject on" and place the said sim where they would be posing. Not into all that. Uninstalled it immediately.

OH.
MY.
GOD.

BUILDING MODS!!!!

I have so many different building mods, its not funny.

Hundreds of doors, windows, columns, whatever... I have it all.

You see, I dont really see it as an addiction to downloading mods, I see is as always needing the perfect pieces for each lot I build.

Its a problem, really.... :D

TS2 CC Conversions (thank god for Camille), clutter, paintings, tattoos, glasses and anything industrial.

Mainly game-tuning mods that I can literally control every little movement in my sim's life and those around him. I also love hair and clothing mods. If I actually did movie maker stuff, I think I would be more into the pose packs.

Oh, and I forgot makeup! I like the different make up types you can find, and not like "make up" make up. I mean the contouring stuff that adds under eye shadows, or stuff like lower lid eyelashes. I'm also addicted to hair. I may have issues.

I have very little TS3 CC compared to the mountain of CC I had in TS2. I guess the intervention and 12 step program worked.

My CC addiction is hair, skins and mods. Anything to make it more realistic. I love skins, because I like my sims to look different from each other, hair because I hate EA hair period, and mods, because the sims TO ME without mods, is extremely boring. They go to work, eat, piss, sleep, and then to it all over again day after day. SInce Sp (the selling point of the game) doesn't work, and CAS doesn't give me the sliders or tweaks to make my sims how I want to make them come with the game, or just being able to play it without extreme lag (cleaning up cars, finding stuck sims, turning off radio's etc) which the game should automatically be programmed to do itself. I use mods.

Pretty much 95% of my CC is makeup, hair, and clothing. I do have a few mods, worlds, and houses as well. I am terribly addicted to clothing though, I have way too much of it.

Houses. And Worlds. And clothing/hair for my male sims. :)

Default replacements for skin, eyes and hair *lol* oh and the baby bottle, plates and anything else I find that looks better. I download a lot of hair too. Tuning mods and stuff from Twallan of course. I have a lot of stuff from his site, still trying to get the hang of all of it :)

Hair, YA female clothes, Toddler clothes, and tuning mods!! Oh and Twallan of course. His mods are the first thing I install whenever I reinstall, or install a new ep/sp

Pooklet'd hair, clutter items, & store stuff. I have nearly every Anubis hair, nearly every store item, and a ton of little clutter.

I'm very specific though, I find a lot of the CC out there is too realistic. Which isn't the way I play my game, so I lack a lot of clothing, make-up, and new meshes for larger objects (sofas, beds, etc)

Twallan's Mods are a must (but maybe they don't count because they make the game playable for me). Also I have nearly every store item and I love clutter and Anubis' hair.

I have a ton of everything because... I love all sorts of stuff and I haven't yet noticed any disadvantage of having ton of cc. Doesn't slow my game at least yet, with over 3gb of content *lucky* I've tried running the game without any and it's just the same... But I've seen some people having like 12gb of cc... I suppose their games are still working as well, right.

In past I used to be a control freak over my cc: thinking that I needed to delete every piece of cc that I don't perfectly love anymore.
So I spent most of my ("gaming") time going through the stuff, deleting the ones that were less than perfect...
then downloading the same ones again after the change of mind
Now I no longer delete the stuff unless there's a major reason and that frees a lot of my time for actually playing the game :P

But anyway, my real love are outdoor plants and patterns !

Well, if it's a mod or content made for TS3, I think I have it. Right now, I'm running with ~1800 Sim3packs for 13 GB, plus a ton of combined packages for another 3 GB (can't bring myself to add up all the files and uncombined size of the combined packages), along with ~200 package mods including tuning, script, and slider mods. My rule is, if it looks like I MIGHT need or use it, I download and install it. I need some serious help. :faceslap:

Hair, hair, HAIR!
furniture
worlds (though I don't keep them all in my game at the same time: I download them, play for some time, and if they start to lag, or I see not many options to customize them to my liking, I removethem, but keep the files in a special folder. I have, like, 20+ worlds, but have only 3 installed)

Mods that allow more autonomy to my game. Sliders. I have just about every slider ever made.

TheTripWasInfragreen
16th May 2012, 03:43 PM
Any CAS parts. Hair and clothes, obviously, but I've found myself downloading tons of makeup, accessories, and every type of skin I can get my fingers on. Not to mention sliders. I have trouble navigating through some sections now just because of those sliders.

Other than that, it's mostly mods and a couple worlds. I do have a slight addiction to mods. I played the game vanilla for a long while and I'm shocked at how I did it.

Hair
Makeup
Patterns
Build items - columns, arches, doors, windows, fences, gates
Clutter
Window treatments - blinds & curtains

In TS2 I always had 12 GB of 3rd party CC in my current game mostly recolours and I had to swap them out every so often.
In TS3 I have 12 GB of 3rd party CC in my current game mostly meshes and I don't have to swap out anything ... yet :)

How do you guys know exactly how big your CC files are? For example I went into my package folder just now and it said 207 mb, is that 2 gigs? And my simspack cache files say 596 mb, is that 5 gigs?

207mb is just that, 2 gb would be 2000mb or there abouts...

On topic subject...

I have to have any mod that turns off certain autonomy, some auto actions just grind on me :(

I use to have about 7GBs of CC in my game, but reduced that dramatically. Now I am addicted to gameplaying mods, hair and makeup, and maternity clothes. That now numbers to 585MBs of mods/packages and 4GBs of downloads (store stuff).

Replacement skin/eyes, and hair. I'm especially addicted to all hairs that have been blessed with the magical touch of Anubis (:
Yes, I'm a total Anubis-fan girl. But seriously, after having those hairs in my game, I will never go back!

Fun thread! I love hair (Anubis' hairs are must-haves!) and clothes. Default replacements are must-haves, as well as Twallan's mods. I have a lot of other mods as well. I have a good bit of furniture. I love Fresh Prince's cars. I'd love to have more makeup, but I can never find any that's good... does anyone have any recommendations?

I try to avoid CC as much as possible, except for mods which are totally necessary for me(awesomemod, twallan's, buzzler's etc). But I can't do without hair, custom skins and makeup. Most of the CC I have is hair. The least CC I have is clothing. I don't like custom clothing except for Anubis' and Elexis because theirs matches EA's and I like EA's clothing.

To be very specific, since I pretty much download anything that I like:
For objects, I am particularly addicted to shelving.
For hair, short boyish style hairs or hairs that look good for little girls and toddlers.
For makeup, eyeshadow and eyeliner.
For clothing, I don't have a specific type of cc that I'm addicted to but I generally love everything from Lili Sims and I'm SO glad Modish Kitten is back. Also love Judi's stuff from AAS.
Mods: Twallan, Buzzler and a few other must-haves (harder celebrities, teens in professions/bands, custom food scripter), and now custom food and drinks

I have a sad obsession with decorative items.... I can't stand empty rooms! I once gave my sim a sleeping bag and no toilet just so I could buy him this really 'cool' table that I covered in photos, magazines and plants. I also love custom hair and clothing- I couldn't play my game without CC now that I've finally used it!

I agree...clutter is a must have for me. I like my homes to look lived in. Also, house plants. I like having a little green fern or some flowers in each room, somewhere. Building sets/Maxis Match is another. I abhor when EA gives us one window but not a matching door, two tile version, etc. Lastly, I do like hair. I like my female sims to look different and the EA hair that came with the base game is dreadful. It's slowly getting better but it's now 1 out of 5 hairstyles is decent. So hair is a big must have.

Mostly objects (furniture and clutter), hairs (Gawd, I cannot resist hair x.X), a bit of clothes and accessories; all CC and store stuff. And a gazillion of mods and modded objects! Anything that adds options, gameplay or fun, lately custom food and drinks:up: I have a bit more than 4 gigs, with 2 gigs and a half for the store. I keep recategorizing my stuff; love tweaking my files, constantly cleaning up and reorganizing my catalogue ^^ Latest huge project: moving books and study deco to storage/bookshelves with a max price of 124§; painting and sculpture deco to entertainment/hobbies with a max price of 79§.

Lately I started adding 'silly' accessories for Showtime careers: like angel wings, silly antennas and funny hats, also crazy stage clothing to go with it. I'll also probably re-add free store stuff I've previously removed like the New year hat, Frankenstein bride hair & the Alice hair since they now have an actual use on stage (once I finish recategorizing my stuff lol).

I agree with many others. hair and clothing (although I look through most categories, these are the main ones)
I'm thinking about replacing some female hair with some new ones though because I have so many that I don't like. they must have looked good until I actually saw them in CAS..some of them are horrible because they're somewhat transparent.
I feel like there's more male hair than I thought there would be but I don't think there's enough variety of male hair out there...I need more. I guess it's like either too long or too short. the happy medium ones are usually ugly/messy.
I've got too much female clothing but I bet you I'll get more because although I have enough for the other women, I don't have enough for me because I don't wear dresses and I'm not a big fan of jeans and it's mostly just that. I find it funny that I'm not a clothes person (shopping for clothes is so boring) and I'm so picky with them but yet I have so many. however that's probly cuz the clothes aren't as much for me as it is for other women.

Tweaks that address what I find as big annoyances from the game and its expansions such as some of the autonomous actions Sims do a little too much like watch people play guitar and such for example, or ones that just improve the game in general. I check in the 'MTS' Top Items' category quite often and try out what I find interesting from the list too, usually custom town lots.

Mostly hair and skins (and eyes and makeup...). I have plenty of clothing and a ton of furniture, so I don't need much else.

But those sims, gotta keep them all different looking!
