Adopted kids not appearing as family

This just started recently, and I'm not sure what's up. I had a family adopt a child, and the social worker came like normal, but when the kid arrived, they got the new families last name but didn't see them as related, and still was on it's old family tree (this was a kid that had been taken from another family). However it had no memories.

I tried it with kids, toddlers, and babies, and it still happened. I have quite a few kids "in the system", so I haven't tried it with a randomly generated adopted kid. Any ideas what is causing it?

I don't have any mods or cheats relating to adoption or family installed.

Have you done the Game_Help:Game_Problem FAQ yet? Sometimes, CC can cause problems, even when it doesn't appear to be related to a specific situation.

I believe that's okay, right? I mean, Nervous Subject from Strangetown is a kid of Olive Specter. He got taken away by SW, and later the Beaker family adopted him - and he's still part of Olive's family tree.
