How do you set up a wedding?

This is probably a stupid question, but how do you set up a wedding party, cutting the cake, the ring, etc?

When I get married, it's just a quick animation of the ring, and that's it.

Try having the couple already engaged, then 'set up' a party by placing a wedding arch, wedding cake, champagne toast and other party-type things (ie music, food, objects that increase fun and group socialisation). Of course, invite the appropriate number of people.

At about the 2min 30sec mark, have one person from the couple click the arch and select "Get Married". Everyone at the party will come over to watch and a cut-scene will follow. To make your wedding party even better, try getting the couple to toast to each other afterwards (always makes the party 'score' go up!) and cut the cake. Make sure there are public toilets available to all guests at all times, and always music on for entertaining :)

Whatever you do, DON'T buy the champaigne until AFTER the ceremony or your guests will obcsess on it instead of watching.

To click on the arch and select 'get married', does it HAVE to be at the 2min 30sec mark? I know I know, it's a dumb question, but I'm really stuck on this.
Rowena Sim is engaged to Mitch Sim (btw, Mitch was a NPC she met in Uni, so he's not one I created) - she proposed 'engagement' to him and he accepted - but I can't get him to move into the house!!!! There is never the option 'propose move in' even tho they are very much in love, and she got pregnant, and had a baby! (naughty mitch) I threw a 'wedding party', had the arch etc etc, and I kept clicking on the arch...but it wouldn't give me an option! I was wondering if the option only appeared at that time mark.
Or is it not appearing cos Mitch doesn't live with Rowena?

I have Uni and Nightlife (and original of course) and have no hacks (that I know of) except I've just d/l the antiblur one, but not installed it yet.

click on mitch sim and go to propose the move in.my advice might not be the best because the only people i have married are the goths

Make sure you have nanny or someone to care for the kid if you get it working in the middle of a party, because after the party is over and they are hitched they will take off in a limo. (they come back needs all green and refreshed)

No it doesnt have to be at any particular time. You dont even have to have a party, you can just click on the arch and choose get married while both sims are on home lot. (not community) I have been able to have a wedding with only one of the sims living on the lot and the other one invited. (and guests if I chose to throw a party as well) If you manage to get the arch to work without a party, you dont need a sitter because a limo will not come. Make sure the arch is on level ground and accessible is the only advice I have at this point.

I also have a problem with the wedding thing. I created the Wright household and the Chase household. Mr. Wright (tehehe), AHEM! Mr. Wright is madly in love with Mrs. Chas or infatuated, and had twin girls by him, Jasmin and Dakota, Mrs. Chase aked Mr. Wright to stay the night, he does, but he never moves in since the propose to move in or proposal of marraige ever came up, and I also tried the invite for wedding and the arch and clicked on the arch and nothing happened. The girls have their mothers' maiden name and I want every one to have the last name Wright.
I guess they have to argue and not be freinds or lovers and start over again of dating, or does any one have any other ideas??
I'm looking for a wedding hack for both same and opposite.
