Hi MTS !

Have loved this site since forever - have tons of fond memories downloading from here since 2006 I think. I still play sims 2 - and when I played on PC I had mainly custom skintone, hair, makeup, clothing, and maxis items were rarely used. I now play primarily on my mac (sims 2 super collection represent - thanks aspyr) and since its so fast I play primarily with no custom content at all - only mods.

I was wondering if any of you had some great maxis-matching content in mind for someone who doesn't want to change the game that much - it can be here on MTS, on other websites, whatever. Really just wanna explore and find some stuff that fits in well with Maxis' content. Hair, makeup, clothes, accessories, just want to find stuff that I like.

You might wanna be more specific, 'cause there's... absolute tonnes of stuff that fits that description. A good place to start might be here: http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=529171 - as a general rule, most simmers on tumblr make maxis matchy stuff, elsewhere it's a mixed bag.

Hi, Nysha, thanks for your quick reply! What I sort of meant with my question was if there's anyone who has the same preference as me, what their go-to downloads are, their favorites etc.

A good place to start is the Sims 2 Default Database, and get default replacement eyes, skins, makeup, eyebrows, face templates, etc. It has the defaults sorted into realistic, semi-realistic, and Maxis match. There's a lot of great options.

You can look in the s2cc tag on Tumblr and find a lot of nice Maxis match hairs, for example made by SelenaQ13 and Poppet.

I think simphany.com is a good place for Maxis match clothing. Personally I don't do default replacements on clothes. There are no Maxis outfits that I can't imagine a Sim wearing one day, even if it's just for a fancy dress party.
