The object is now flashing between the color I wanted it to be (black) and of course the dreaded blue. Is this because new meshes can not be recolored with simpe 17c or because of something I did wrong. I'll attach the file and before and after pictures. The picture of the black piano is color I wanted the keyboard to be, that's why it's there.
Thanks in advance.

PETALLOTUS, I'm so sorry I missed your post! :P
The problem about the CRES (experimental) is due to an old plugin of SimPE that should be deactivated. Go to Plugins/Installed plugins and find the entry named "CRES Wrapper": *uncheck* it and click OK.
Now, when you open the Resource Node you should see a window similar to the one in my pictures.
One more thing:
I've noticed that you modified only one of the GMDC, and you deleted the other one, along with the "related" Shape.
But you have modified the wrong GMDC: you should always export/edit/reimport tha "main" GMDC, the one related the *main* part of the object (you can see a preview in SimPE, now, that helps a lot).
My suggestion is to clone again the piano, replace the *first* GMDC, delete the second GMDC (the one with only one mesh), delete the second Shape (again, the one with only one subset) and delete the second GMND.
Then, open the Resource Node, goto the "Reference" tab and delete the second reference.
Then, follow again the Procedure B.
Let me know if this solved your problem.
