Round 3, Formal
My job:
As I'm still studying I have had several jobs over the years. Mostly in shops, and at the moment I am working in a carpet shop. Selling persian carpets. It's not the most common job, but it's really nice as I get to learn something new each day. I like the fact that I'm selling something under the category of "art", as you really need some great artistic skills to be able to make a nice carpet. Most people don't know how much culture who lies in one single carpet! For me, this job opens up for my artistic skills as much as it opens up for my cultural knowlegde.
Me as a role model:
As I've stated earlier, I'm not the typical miss or model. I'm the girl next door, just like most people are. I'm more a do-er than a thinker, which makes me able to take action whenever it's needed. Some people might think I'm a bit straight forward, but I always believe in what I do and I always believe in doing the right thing. For me that is putting others before me, and to help those that need it the most. Aswell as helping those people that never get to speak their words through the media.. "The people next door". If you can help the people that are able to help other people, then it's easier to fight poverty and war together.
My talent:
When it comes to talent, I've always been a creative person. I love painting, photographing, writing and even singing and dancing (The last two things are not my greatest talents though). As you can see through todays free shots I've chosen to go a little further than just a glamorous picture. I want to show that glam doesn't always come with happines.. and that beauty sometimes might try to cover up the unhappiness.
Head and profile
Having black hair and pale skin might make me look like a Vampire.. so this time I decided to play on the beauty of a vampire mistress as my main look. I might not be inspired by Mariah Carey or Diana Ross, but for me myths brings a lot of beautiful creatures. Elves, vampires, fairies.. When I dress up for formal events I like to do a little extra to my outfit as far as I'm aloud to it.
Free shots
This photo might be a bit extreme, but glam isn't my strongest side. Believe me, I love diamonds and jewelry like a lot of other girls. I just think that glam sometimes overshine the cruelness of the world. In my picture I act as a girl who has died at her prom night. She's now resting peacfully in a pretty red dress. I picked red to symbolize blood, romance and of course it's the most outstanding color there is. One doesn't need too much jewlery while wearing red.
I promised myself that I would bring up some vintage or 1950s inspired stuff to this contest. Therefore I picked out Marilyn Monroe's famous pink dress. It's the typical symbol of wealth, but here I want to show that being rich isn't everything. Having a nice dress might make a beautiful photo, but it doesn't provide happiness.
