Ladies & gentlemen͵
here's Milburn to speak with you all.
________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Thank you Mr. Briggs. Also͵ thank you all again for succeeding in these challenges. There were some issues with the paperwork for claiming the funds for that town contract. We hope the funds offered from the previous two contracts were adequate enough to cover the cost of the third one. This time around͵ we've secured the funds for this last contract being offered to your company. This structure is expected to be the attraction of town.
In this last town contract͵ we're asking your company to provide our town with a hotel. We're looking for temporary lodging to attract tourists. Just in case they'd like to see our town first before investing in a business or a home͵ they can get a taste of what it's like to see & interact with locals. This hotel's operation will accommodate guests to stay the night & sleep indoors, in case the weather changes to an unseasonably cold chill.
Click here for the image of the land that can be built upon. You may also download the lot from
HERE, or from the attachments area located at the end of this post. Contained on this lot are the approved exterior wall motifs. You can remove the walls from the lot and start from an empty land.
We're asking that your company build an establishment that has at least 4 rooms for rent. Each room must accommodate at least 2 people͵ & must have bedding for at least 2. We're also providing the approved exterior wall motifs for the hotel. The hotel is meant to blend well with the wealthier district of town. We will not accept a camp site as the main attraction for the accommodation. The wealthier residents are also not interested in hearing the snores of several tourists sleeping outdoors overnight. They believe it would introduce "squatters".
Just as Mr. Briggs has informed you all about͵ some companies may not have certain capabilities to install rental doors͵ such as for apartment units͵ & now hotel units. In this contract͵ we do not expect to have hotel doors that function as such. However͵ we ask you to build for each unit an enclosed unit with only 1 door leading in & out from public spaces (e.g. there's only one way to enter & exit the unit from the outside). In the future͵ implementation of a functional hotel door can be possible.
Hotels & lodging are a new venture for this town͵ & as a result͵ new laws & regulations (
The By-Laws) have to be made for our quaint town. These are the proposed standards for hotel operations:
1. An enclosed area for privacy (at least a 3-walled structure)
2. A rooftop enclosure (so the weather does not fall upon the heads of guests)
3. Adequate interior floors (so insects from the grass do not enter from below the building)
4. Plumbing for visitors & guests (at least 1 toilet & 1 sink for visitors; 1 toilet & 1 shower͵ tub͵ or sink per guest room)
5. Lighting for pedestrians at night (at least two lamp posts per lot)
6. Access to emergency services at all times (at least 1 phone per room unit)
7. All guest units must have a working smoke alarm
8. All levels of the hotel accessible by guests must be accessible by staircases͵ in case of fire or damage
REGULATIONS FOR THIS PARTICULAR LOT |
The cost of the property must be at least §50͵000. This is the minimum investment asked for by the town to operate a lodging establishment. If the total cost of the property is below §50͵000͵ your company will be billed the remaining amount until the minimum amount is reached. You will also be taxed at a property value of §50͵000. |
Your establishment must have a counter area to act as the concierge area to "check-in" guests. It must be at least 3-tiles straight. If you are using a 1-tile concierge desk͵ please insert a counter on each side of it͵ at minimum͵ to fulfill this requirement. |
You may not build higher than five levels of space͵ including any walk space on the roof top accessible by ordinary layman Sims. This is a restriction imposed for now͵ as hotel regulations are still in discussions. Urban developers feel that too high of a building will cause a stir with residents. So no hi-rise towers allowed for now. |
You may not build a camp site. Wealthier residents nearby may not accept the look of the site͵ & property values will drop. Your company may be fined heavily to demolish the property. A camp site will be defined as anything outside with a or multiple tents͵ or a lodging establishment whose main operation is to charge guests to occupy the outside on a regular basis for their sleep/overnight stay. We strongly recommend not placing more than twice the number of outdoor reclining/lounge chairs or hammocks per bed available at the accommodation (e.g. no higher than a ratio of 2 recliners/hammocks per 1 bed in the hotel to ensure compliance). |
We're projecting a build time of no more than 15 days from today. The start & end dates are listed below. We are accepting only one design from each company. We're providing your company some money to finish this last contract. Late submissions will be subject to a penalty as stated below. This is our town's final contract, & so build up the most funds in your company's coffers to be declared the winner of this competition. Good luck to everyone involved!
