I've been doing this challenge on and off for a while, and I finally sat down one day and REALLY started playing. I will be posting pictures as soon as I really figure out the best way to do that. :/
Actually, can someone please inform me of how to do that? I haven't done it in SO long that I've forgotten. :P

Wow no one has posted on here for over a year! Anyway I started the challenge last night and it is really fun! Tip- dont start at night, you will never end up getting to bed!. Quick question, when i deleted all of my lots and houses I also edited central Park and erased all the concrete and hedges and lights. When I visited it I couldn't see any seeds anywhere! I was wondering if somehow the seeds were linked to something in the park that I might have erased? Any info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

Actually, I posted that yesterday, I wonder why it says 2009? o.0

And NZ_Summer, I think seeds are just randomly generated. I'm not sure about the park, but if you look around in the mountainous (sp?) areas you'll find plenty of seeds.

Seeds are an underground spawn thing. If you changed the terrain very much. You might be spawning buried seeds. Ie the seeds still spawn but they spawn underground were you cant see them.

Thanks for all the great comments about my challenge! I'm not sure how to post pictures but maybe you could look up a tutorial on this website or maybe Google it. Hahaha Has Google become our come-to for everything?

Haha, apparently so. I've been incredibly lazy with uploading pictures, but I want to upload them soon. My first tribe is just about to have their second baby, hopefully a girl this time!

wow, I was doing a search for indian type things, because i had a random urge to make a tribe family, so this is perfect...except, I still haven't found many indian tribe type items.

Oooo I really like the look of this challenge! Its brought back my obsession with Sims3!

So you have to delete all of the lots and buildings apart from parks and lakes?

I have a really good idea about how I'm going to do my challenge. I'm going to use the map of the town that came with Ambitions, and I'm going to play this challenge starting tomorrow.

Started the challenge today! I created my first Tribe.

Kalan Mufassa

Shwani Mufassa

I didn't really want to base any of my tribes on any "real tribes", so their names I sort of made up with a little inspiration from The Lion King Will upload more pictures soon.

Thank you!

Here's a brief verbal update, along with some photos!

Shwani., Kalan's wife died of old age shortly after her oldest daughter married, leaving behind 3 children - Kalasi, Twasan and Nhamo, as well as the adopted white child Kwasi. All Kalan and Shwani's children are adults, andn Kalan himself is now nearing death.

Kalasi married Lance of the Veloquez Tribe, but instead of settling down near to her parents they disapeered. Kalasi sent a message to Kalan a few years later, saying that they had settled in Kalan's birthplace, and were very unlikely to ever return...

Twasan married Demi of the [can't remember the name] Tribe, and together they already have two children - their eldest is a son named Kaslan (I think) and a daughter named Aralyn. Unlike their dark-skinned, black-haired, brown-eyed father, they have inherited their mother's honey-coloured skin and her bright red hair. However, Kaslan does have his father's eyes, while Aralyn has her mother's.

After the birth of her brother's children, Nhamo was asked by her father Kalan to find somewhere else to live, as it was now inappropriate for her to share a roof with them and she was of marriageable age. Nhamo agreed to move in with the Veloquez Tribe as a potential bride for their youngest son, Birnow. There does seem to be some romance, but do they like each other enough to marry?

Kwasi has always been the odd one out. He was found on the doorstep by his adopted parents, and has had a very happy life so far. He is the exact opposite of his family - pale, and blonde. No one knows who his real parents are. He's very overweight and isn't very bright, but somehow his adoptive father Kalan managed to persuade the Romanov Tribe to allow Kwasi to move in as a potential husband for their eldest daughter, Katja. But will it work out? And does Kwasi actually fancy Igor, the eldest Romanov son?

Pictures!
Kalan Mufassa

Twasan Mufassa

Nhamo is wearing the purple on the left, the woman in the red dress is Demi's mother - Aramae - and the couple getting married are Kalasi and Lance Veloquez, I don't have better pictures of them sorry

Demi Mufassa (Twasan's wife)

Kaslan

Kwasi

Guys, just a tip. If you have ambitions, use unlockOutfits on and choose the tribal garb. Oh, and I will be starting this soon. I have some base ideas. I'm going to create an island in the Create-A-World tool.

I've altered how I'm going to play this challenge slightly. You may have noticed that in some of my pictures, the tribes are wearing "modern" clothes. My game started in the equviliant of the 17th/18th century (because I just love the fashion in that era), and these people are descendants of tribes who have been relocated to "reservations" by the pale-skinned invaders. I think once all of the original founders of each tribe are dead, I'll start introducing some "white americans", and begin a couple of Romeo & Juliet style stories. =D

If there is one thing this challenge has made me realize, it's that I am waay too much of a control freak xD It's really hard making tribes and then not control everything they do! Haha. 'Cause I don't want them doing things that doesn't fit into my story (x

Anyway, here's my main tribe, the Hira's, enjoying a family meal from the days catch.

Kenji is a family man, who excels at angling and thrives in the outdoors. Very athletic and a great sense of humor.
His wife Junn, a very friendly soul, also thrives in the outdoors. But where Kenji excels with angling, she has a special touch with gardening and cooking. Kenji and her are great together because they both put family first.
Then there's Milo, the Hira tribe daughter. She's an angler by heart like her father and feels best when she's outside. Also like her father, she's athletic, but most of all she's quite charismatic.
Obie is the son of the Hira tribe and like all of the tribe, he feels most alive outdoors. Like his father, Obie has a very developed sense of humor, even for his young age. Furthermore, Obie has an undefinable quality about him. Some days he'll wake up and his family just knows that the day will be lucky for him.

They live at the beach, close to their life sourch, in small huts.

Here we have the family starters, Junn and Kenji, enjoying a quiet moment before sleep.

And here are Kenji and Junn's children, Milo and Obie with the teen boy Niha Mirat from the neighboring tribe.

That's all for now : D But I must say, this challenge is really interesting ^^

Looks like other people have got the idea from somewhere to do the same tribal markings on their faces. I'm developing meanings for the colours on their face, so hopefully I'll have a system where you can tell whether they are married, which family they're from and their favourite colour.

Quite a bit has happened since my last update. Kwasi is now in a relationship with the Romanov Tribe heiress, while Nhamo has so far been unsuccessful to woo herself a husband. Twasan and Demi have recently had triplets! Raising 2 toddlers and 3 babies was tough, then it got even harder when it became 5 toddlers but they managed. The toddlers are called Shwani, Selena and Sydel. There isn't enough other 3rd generation Sims for them to marry, so I gotta get creating more Tribes to move in. A couple of my starter tribes are remaining celibate it seems.

This is so great! I love challenges with backstories. I'm gonna try to make huts using the round roof option.
But how would you explain the fact that they have refridgerators and stuff? I was thinking of putting my fridge near a river (like in the Boxcar children books when they squeeze milk between two really cold riverbanked rocks). And how would they cook? Maybe I can find some custom content.

Maybe modern stuff like toilets could be "Create a Style-d" so it looks wooden, and the magic of how it works is run by the Elders. Just a thought.

I like the sound of this and will start it as soon as. I will create more tribes as i go along to carry on with the children, I will be using some modern stuff, but like lipgloss said: create a style for it.

I would not go as far as elders running it as everyone has a job of their own; eg house jobs for women and hunting for men, angler.

I am so excited of this challenge and i never have completed one, but this one I hope is the one for me.

I developed having the women have the circular pattern on their faces, and the men having the moon and stars on theirs. I've also added animal fur to the dress of the higher status tribal members. The poorer ones are living in either wooden huts or rough/uneven stone houses, but I've recently built a temple-like house for the domiant tribe to live in. Pictures when it's completed I'm not using money cheats so I'm waiting for them to earn a bit more money so I can add some finishing touches before I'm happy with it. I'm using a lot of wood and stone effect textures on objects like the fridge, and my way of getting round the existance of modern appliances is suggesting throughout the storyline that where they live is actually an indian reservation (similar to those in america), and in return for the modern appliances, the tribes farm/fish for the "pale-faces" and sell artwork/sculptures. Eventually some modern sims are going to move in, but that won't be until the 5th generation. Some of the tribes have adopted pale children, who are now breeding children of their own.

Brief update for my tribe:

Nhamo has given birth to a healthy baby boy named Jarez, even though she is now in her late 30s, shortly after marrying Birnow. They live with Birnow's younger sister, Desrae who is almost an elder yet has never married. It's likely that she'll remain that way and stay living with them as a nanny.
The Mufassa triplets - Shwani, Selena and Sydel are now teenagers, and there are no guys their age around. The Tribe heir is traditionally female, so Aralyn will marry the only suitable male for hundreds of miles - Igor, who is several years older. However, the only male Rastan is struggling to find himself a wife also. Will they all remain lonely?
Darius Darivez is the brother of the Mufassa Matriarch, Demi and both have recently lost their mother. Darius is now the only remaining member of his tribe still carrying the tribal name; will the fabled Darivez tribe die out like all the others? Or is their hope left?
