Just wondered if you guys have made some updates to settings. Logged in yesterday and titles have all of a sudden been highlighted in blue and today they are still in blue and messages are highlighted in red. As I didnt make changes to settings am wondering if its an update to the site, which of course I dont mind, or something else!

Some of the styling has been changed - it's intentional.

Thats all good was just whinging to my husband 'whos gotten into my account' lol! He says I take more notice of changes to this than money leaving the bank account, but then thats intentional too! Thanks hp, do like the changes and glad its not been hacked into like I was thinking

The red highlight over my screen on the messages info scares me. It's like saying 'alarm, alarm, pay attention!' My eye keeps going up to its redly presence up in the left corner. I did quite prefer the blue, much less agressive.

Actually there wasn't a highlight around the messages before. Now there is. It's just to draw your eye to the fact you have messages.

Is it supposed to be bright red when you have zero unread? I think it distracts from the main theme (mine is currently the blue skies).

There's already a pop-up if there's a new message, isn't it? I have to agree with the others, the red screams at me "something interesting here!" when in fact there isn't, so I constantly feel tricked. Soon I'll be used to it being red all the time and that attention effect will be worn out. It would be great if it was red when there's a new message, but this way it just sticks out painfully for no reason.

Is it possible to make it so the red bar is only there when we do actually have new messages? I am not really enjoying having that red distracting me all the time, but I'd definitely appreciate it flagging up new messages.

I actually find it much more difficult to tell whether I have a new message now. The dark background completely overrides the lettering (for me, anyway). It used to be very easy to tell whether I had a new message. Now, I find my eyes avoiding that part of the screen.

I love how everybody complains about the messages thing, but absolutely nobody has commented on the other changes....

All I have noticed is that some of the other bars are a darker blue than before? I probably don't go around the other areas often enough to have noticed other changes yet I guess the PM bar is most comment worthy as it is the only RED thing on a lot of people's screens :D

Oh - there is the Unhelpful button I've just noticed. Thank you!

Nope, I am mistaken, it's still not in the other forums. Ok where's the list of changes? I'll check them all out.

Well, let's see:

- Removed the "Non-Rounded" themes, as they weren't any different to the normal ones
- All Tabs now have rounded tops
- The menus now have darker blue rounded seperators
- Posts no longer have borders around them
- All table seperators have darker blue gradiants on them
- The PM dropdown no longer has a gap at the bottom
- The PM dropdown no longer has a border
- The number of unread messages is now highlighted in a button style
- The "View more downloads by this creator" has changed to "View Profile" and is now in button form
- The "View my journal" link has been renamed to "View Journal" and changed to button form
- The icons under a creators name no longer show in a vertical column

So... you know... hardly anything changed. :P

Well it looks very streamlined, anyway. I guess I wasn't looking at it critically before, cos there wasn't much that seemed wrong to me before either!

Delphy, we do appreciate your efforts. However, while I noticed that there was a new look to the site, I couldn't pinpoint all the things that had changed. Doesn't mean I don't like it, just that I couldn't tell you what had a gap before and what didn't. I DID notice the site looks more stylistically cohesive. I'm sure most folks are more likely to bring up things they don't like than to thank you for changes they do like, just human nature. So when we forget to do that, take comfort in the fact that MTS is a very successful, long lived site, and that's largely due to your efforts. MTS has literally given me years of fun, thanks for that.

As for the red message highlight, THANK YOU for nixing it. It really was very distracting and confusing to have messages be red when there are no new messages and nothing is wrong.

Blue game non-rounded. It's better now that the background is dark blue, rather than dark red.

Ambular, the only difference between the Non Rounded and Rounded styles is the use of a background colour on the tables in the Rounded style - but thats basically *it*. In all other ways they are identical.

Considering that I am in the midst of changing the styles on the site, I ask that you be patient - I'll probably be replacing the current styles with the colour schemes from the Non-Rounded ones and then removing those completely later on. It just makes it easier when there is less stuff to modify, and especially when basically half the themes are just copies of others with one colour changed.

Sorry, Delphy. I was using the Moddeth dyne Serfs-skin before I noticed the changes. (Went back to blue skies because Serfs won't load the homepage properly.)

Overall I like the changes a lot. I always love a aesthetic, simplified feel, so for me you are going the right way with the changes.

Sorry if I came across as snippy. I totally get wanting to simplify things, and of course you have every right to tweak your site as you see fit. I've just been having a lousy online couple of weeks and was not expecting the change, and I see now that you've either altered the background color or else I was experiencing a graphical glitch that has since corrected itself.

The blue mixed into the middle of Moddeth Thine Sims theme isn't my favourite, but eh, whatever, I'll live with it if it stays. I'm still happy to have a theme that doesn't hurt my eyes with a glaringly bright background (though, to be fair, Calm Storm isn't white like the rest, so that helps, I just find it...boring). You could probably force me to answer riddles from a floating monkey head before I'm allowed to browse the site and I wouldn't even flinch provided I could still look at the site without it hurting my eyes (after answering the monkey riddles, of course).

Just wanted to comment on the rounded tabs, though. It looks A LOT better, much cleaner. However, the tabs across the bottom of the download pages have the same rounded top and bottom, which looks kinda odd, as the rounded corners are up against a flat surface. I'm sure they use the same background image as the top row, so there probably isn't much to do about it, but it just seems they should either stay square, or the bottom corners should be rounded rather than the top.

Diving into delerium yet again.

Done that. It was very amusing.
