I don't know if this is down to the new patch but I have a level 10 in sculpting sim who can sculpt with everything except stone. As soon as I tell her to start a sculpture in stone or sculpt a specific one in stone, she goes to the station and then the command drops of the queue and she goes to do something else.

Im going to try skilling another one up to see if it's her or not. I've tried resetting her and replacing the station but nothing seems to be working.

lol, I saw the title and thought we had the same problem. But mine is different. As soon as I got a sim to max sculpt level, any time he tries to sculpt in stone it's about a 80% chance that it will break a third of the way through and he'll get a random collectible rock from it. Which is frustrating, since I was wanting him to actually MAKE SOMETHING. XP

Did your problem start only after that sim reached level 10? If so, then testing with a new sim should tell you if that is the problem or not.

That gem from stone thing is normal, it's good when you can sculpt for free but sucks when you have to pay for a worthless something.

Well, somehow I resolved it but no idea how. Someone else in the household was able to sculpt with stone and then all of a sudden she could too. Really don't know what the issue was but it seems to have only been temporary.
