I have a similar looking chair like the one shown in the pics and its hard for me to map it.
Is there any way that i can make a uv map to look like a qube so the patterns apply normaly? I would just map it from the front but the patterns look distorted. I sent the message to ta539 but she didnt reply back. Can you help me guys?

Prolly cos she made it out of a cilinder wich is mapped identical.
So her chair was already mapped before she created it.

If that chair is already mapped wrong to map it right you'd have to break it up so that each face is a separate piece. It's possible to do it but it would be sorta a flog tbh. Also, in Sims 3 if you map all the way to the edges like that map is mapped you're prolly gonna have some problems with the way your texture lays on the object in-game.
