I'm woking in my first Sims 2 machinima and i'm kinda lost now, because i can't find decorative stuff to create a "city atmosphere". I'm not sure if i need to search decorative objects or stuff for the neighborhood.

Any advices and links are welcomed.

I got most of the hood deco I use in my game from CuriousB. Make sure to check everything under the cuts, there's a lot more than pictured.
Also,Psychosim has a lot of nifty hood deco at his livejournal, if you don't mind it being a little grungy.
I'd also recommend you to check the Hood deco section here at MTS, if you haven't already.

Some nice flats from the game Left 4 Dead as neighbourhood deco here. Bluebottle made them but I think her journal is closed, the bookmark I have isn't working. Psychosim has some burnt out buildings here that are really useful too.
