I Was Having a glitch on sims 2 and it ended up me downloading a mod wrong but i seemed to have lost over 4000 of my custom content files! Today i was on my partition drive, it looked a bit full! Out of 2gb it had only 40mb left! Then i saw inside lots of package files just as i was about to delete them, it came to me! There is the exact amount as i lost and i put them back in my downloads folder with no problem! I Couldn't believe they were in there all that time!!!Have you ever done something that stupid!? |

Anyone can build a house on Sims, but only those that believe, can be the best. |

More times than I can count or care to remember. Excuse me from expanding on the topic. But it makes troubleshooting harder when you carelessly stick folders into other, much older, folders in your Downloads and then try to find all the ones you just added so you can remove them first when one of them's caused a problem. |

All you can do is the best you can do. (My most recent book is Sullivan, That Summer. In case you care.) |

I once deleted my AnyGame - after I'd moved my recolours in there to test. Happily I'd backed them up on my external hard drive, but for several seconds all I did was shriek NOOOOOOOOOOOO at my computer. |

I couldn't figure out why I wasn't able to access CC houses I had downloaded and installed with clean installer, until I ran across a thread where the user said they found it in their admin account. Sure enough that's where the Clean Installer had been installing my CC houses... problem fixed and now can access them. But yeah I felt like a noob when I finally figured that out -.-" |

Oh Noes Not Another Blog! - where you can see my awful custom content and horrible attempts at challenges, storytelling and picture taking.
Not much up there right now, this is only the beginning! :D

And you can do this stuff even years after you started playing Sims 2. I confess to having the occasional "What was I THINKING?" moment.

Oh, yeah! I just had one of those 'what did I think I was doing?!" moments-when I installed a lot without checking the content, and accidentally installed a hack I did not realize would wreck my game to the point of nearly (but not quite) scrapping the neighborhood I've been devotedly building. I had to throw everyone out of their lovely homes, salvage what I could of them, and then go looking for the hack that was causing all the problems. Not fun. Tell ya what-those moments are embarrassing even when you're an 'old timer' player. |

But I'm still going around in circles with my beloved hood-it's still giving me errors. I can see that I'll be doing a lot of debugging the hood tonight, tomorrow, and possibly forever. I just don't want to throw it away. It's just too gorgeous and the plot lines are getting interesting. |

What was I thinking moments? Sure, always. I sometimes believe that the more confident I get, the more mistakes I'm prone to making. That's how I lost - quite literally and stupidly - my most favorite hood ever. That moment conicided with the installation of TS3, and maybe, just maybe, that's why I have so many issues with TS3. Had I never even tried playing it, I'd never lose my TS2 hood. Stupid TS3! Years have passed and I still miss that hood. The experience did teach me to be more patient with my mistakes though. No use crying over the spilled milk, right? Who am I kidding? I've learned nothing and it can happen again any day now. Even with half a dozen backups stashed all over the place. ![]() ETA: FranH, I wish you luck with your hood. These Sims of ours are so fragile, easily ruined, corrupted, lost. It really must be a great game if we're still so willing to go through all of the hoops just to keep it running. |

I did solve the problem-actually, 2 of them. One came from a hack I'd downloaded, thinking it would be neat to have, and the other sneaked into my game from a lot I'd downloaded. Both are removed, the hood is saved from destruction, and my sims can resume their frolics. The problematic hacks will never see the light of day on my computer again! It was hairy for a while there...thinking that after all that hard work, then throwing out the hood. It's enough to make a veteran Sims player go to drink!
