Let's make this a site-wide project! I've already started making lots for it (big sauna/spa, a gingerbread restraunt, and an igloo camping ground), but so much more work needs to be done. Modders, meshers, builders, etc. All is needed. Here are some things that I can think of that are needed. -ice rink that looks like pond -a BV food booth thing suitable for a winter wonderland, possibly blocks of snow/ice, that serves hot chocolate and soups. -sauna recolors -uniforms for various npcs -a mod that makes it snow pretty much perpetually in that sub-neighboorhood only -various houses to buy and community lots. -a Bigfoot yeti perhaps -some whole new objects that are suitable to a winter wonderland (icefishing hole maybe?) -little souvaneirs on a stand(sp) -more fir/pine trees (that are covered in snow already, or will be when it snows) -icy/frosty full wall covering window (transparent) -heaps of snow (decorations) -a custom neighborhood would be nice -And of course, the programming for the vacation type. If anyone can think of anything else, or wants to contribute, please let me know! |

As far as I know, there's no way to add a new vacation type. |

One way this can be done will be to build a new vacation hood based on the woodsy camping one. Set the Seasons to nothing but winter. That will solve the snowing and the trees covered in snow issue. Use the ice rink that came with one of the EPs (I forget which one). A few of the other things may just be recolors though some of the other stuff on the list may be more complex. |

That's my backup plan. The ice rink is so fake though-one that looks like it's on a lake would be much better. |

I've seen CC for snow-covered snow, even ground cover that's snow of differant colors. I made a community lot with a lodge where they could get hot-chocolate, and have a Christmass tree. |

I think I know what you're talking about...... Not sure though. So does anyone want to contribute? |

I've always wanted skiing and/or tobogganing if someone could make a mod for it. I didn't think surfing would be possible, but that got modded. |

That would be so cool. Unfortunately, it would probably take someone very, very, very talented. So, joandsarah77, do you wish to pitch in somehow? |

I can build or make walls, that's as far as my abilities go. I’m kind of busy building a farm and doing a design contest on another board apart from real life, but I could probably build something. I was just over on the new Sims 1 board today saying the snow holiday place was my favourite Sims 1 memory. Would some holiday homes do?

For the ice rink that looks like a pond, there's an invisible recolour on MTS that you can use in combination with frozen pond terrain paint. For ice fishing hole, there's a mod that lets you fish anywhere, but I forgot the name of the site. If anyone knows what I'm taking about, please post a link. Thanks. |

joandsarah77, yes, vacation homes are needed. A nice variety of every shape and size. croco, I think fishing anywhere defeats the point. And I found a rink here, but I read the description and it didn't sound invisible to me. And I have no idea what the Sims 1 one is like, as I've never played it. |

Fishing anywhere is an object that you need to place and you can fish in that spot. See link. http://www.modthesims.info/d/231324 |

The Sims 1 Vacation had these cute little igloos and a snow wall which they could have a snow ball fight, the snowman kit that your sims had to hire (Funny getting a kit never seemed odd at the time) and I know there were carnival games although I'm not sure if that was just on the beach holiday area. You could choose to go to the snow, Mts or beach. I may try and install the base game and Vacations on my D drive which isn't too full just to take a look. There weren’t any holiday homes as far as I can remember or I'd have a go at recreating them. I could try and recreate the snow area hotel. I think a Sims 1 nod would be great.

Now I have to just get over this little problem of my sims 1 not wanting to install or play. :/ Hope someone on the tech board can help me out as I'm rubbish with computer stuff. |

@DoReMi: We talke by PM about me doing the recolor of the sauna by Sissy04. If I understand it correctly I need to change the color of the sauna into the color of the wall and floor all made by Sissy. |

I like this idea of adding stuff to do to Three Lakes. That is the WORST vacation destination. I take my families down for a weekend just to get the momentos. Then, if I ever do go again, it's only for weekends and just a camping/fishing trip with daddy and the boys :3 Twikkii Island never gets old. |

This is a good idea!!! Doesn't it snow in Three Lakes though...So something like this could be built there. Unless you're aiming for a distictly christmassy kind of destination - then ignore me! |

We aren't using Three Lakes specifically, just it's vacation type (unless we can find a very talented modder/hacker to make a new one) Quote:
Change the color of the sauna, it's wall, and it's floor into the color of the stuff made by sissy. Maybe even a matching door. The whole destination wouldn't be christmassy, but maybe a few buildings chrismas themed. Although there should probably be some for the other winter holidays too then. |
