Okay, that seems to have done it. Funny, it didn't look like it had a drop-down menu... |

Sorry about resurrecting an old thread, but I was wondering if removing invisible 'sim became creature' memories will do something bad to the game or not. |

Uck, I couldn't open the SimPE thing :/ I made a town, Simstown (Creative name xD) and well I have a bunch of families that are all "connected" like in the premade towns. My sister was playing and she wanted her mom, Tracy Piccolo to cheat on her husband. BUT her mom cheated with one of my people, Josh Stewart. Josh Stewart is a family man with a wife and four kids, I didn't want him to cheat. So she SAVED it! So I wanted to delete his memory of having an affair with her. |

It's likely that this memory has spread throughout the neighborhood. You'd need to remove both the memory and all of the associated gossip. |

Hey, I know this is an old thread, but I have a question....or a few, that is. 1) I have a Sim who has been turned into a Vampire by another sim, and of course he remembers that. But I want to make it look like he was born a Vampire, so, my only option is to remove his memory of becoming one. Doing so, would that be damaging? 2) It is possible to re-arrange the order of already-existing, 'real' memories? Like say, a Sim remembers getting an A+ on his report card, and a cat died after that. Would it be damaging or at least possible to swap those two memories around? 3) It is possible to add memories never naturally recorded? Like say, one Sim is really deceased, but another Sim doesn't remember that. It is possible to get him to remember that? Also, can that memory (which is naturally red) be turned green?? |

You can make whatever changes you want to make, as long as you specify the correct parameters. Although, as I understand the game, you should remove all gossip about a memory before removing the memory itself. The instructions for changing a red memory to green are somewhere in this thread. Read the entire thread and you should be able to find the post that tells you how. It's difficult to tell how "damaging" these things might be. If you're concerned, back up your save game before modifying the memories. In fact, backup even if you aren't concerned. |

What do you mean by, 'gossip about a memory'? |

Memories spread through a neighborhood as sims "gossip" about those memories. Anything which is not an original memory is marked as "gossip". The simplest thing is to use the batbox to clear all gossip from your neighborhood before removing the memory. Don't worry, your sims will gossip enough later. http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/s...topic,72.0.html |

Couldn't find a way to *thank* this post/thread like you can in the download area, so I just wanted to say "Thank You, Mootilda!" for this info, most importantly the RAW Data research! The only info I found originally on the subject (in regards to good/bad memories) wasn't complete & I couldn't figure out why only certain Sims had memories that *matched* the data the poster claimed they should have while others didn't. Now I know why! Thanks for your research & thanks for sharing your knowledge! |

After fixing thousands of errors from my old Pleasantview neighborhood I'm left with this: Quote:
1) Is there any way to fix the Tricou memories? 2) How do I fix the "Subject does not exist" memories? 3) When fixing Motimer Goth's work related memories I removed the 13th line of Raw Data like this post said, but it also says the following: Quote:
Shouldn't it be: Quote:

1) Owner 0x0000 is clearly invalid. Determine whether the memories are first-person memories or gossip. If first-person, change the owner to the first person listed in the error message (Jon Smith, Jennicor, etc.). If gossip, then you need to determine who's first-person memory it is and then change the owner to that person, or just delete the gossip. 2) If the subject doesn't exist, then you need to either delete the memory or change the subject to a valid person. My guess is that deleting the memory is the correct option, since all of these memories are about meeting a non-existent person. 3) Because counting of raw data begins at 0, not 1, the 13th item is counted as 0x0C (12). |

I appreciate the help. Have another question... I just tried this neighborhood and after scanning it with hoodchecker got the following errors: [check attachment] Looks like this hood wasn't cleaned properly. Should I bother using it or is it destined for corruption? |

That neighborhood certainly seems to be missing a lot of sims. Surprising for a neighborhood which doesn't need to include sims at all. I suspect that the creator decided to remove all of the generated sims by deleting the character files, which automatically corrupts the neighborhood. The thing about corruption: sometimes it can make a neighborhood unplayable very quickly, and sometimes the neighborhood can remain playable for a long time. There's no way to know how quickly you'll see problems. My recommendation is that you properly clean the neighborhood of all sims before playing it: http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=468987 I've mentioned this on the download thread, so that other people will know about the problem and solution. |

does it usually take a while for the neighborhood memory to load? because everytime I click on neighborhood memories on the resource trees, nothing happens, but at the bottom it of the plugin view, it says please wait. |

rosedreamer101: Just for future reference: posting five times in a row is against the site rules. Instead, use the Edit button to add information to your existing post. As well, posting 5 times within a 20 minute period is pretty silly. When you ask a question, you can expect it to take anywhere from a couple of hours to a couple of days to get a response, if people actually know the answer; longer if they don't. |

Hi! I created a new sim in Pleasantville and added some memories before moving her into a house. When I did eventually move her in I found several problems: 1) Any personal memories (i.e. - Owner = 'Me' in the SimPE box) show up but without her picture in the square box, the box is just blank. How do I fix this? 2) I tried adding memories and tokens of her learning life skills (i.e.- physiology, couples counselling etc) and they show up as memories but when I click on the bookcase you can still see them and when she studies them the blue bar appears again, meaning she hasn't learned them yet. Any suggestions? 3) This is similar to 2. Is there any way to turn your sim into a witch using SimPE (because just adding the memory obviously doesn't work) and is there any way to give the sim maximum virtuousness and maximum magic skill? Sorry if this all sounds clumsy, I'm new to SimPE and have only just started experimenting. |

1) Memories must have a subject; it sounds like you didn't add one. Different memories require different types of subjects. Some memories require a sim, some require an object, some require a career. My guess is that your subject must be identical to the owner. 2) You probably need to add these hidden skills to your sim's set of skills. Memories are not skills. Adding skills is outside of the topic of this thread. 3) Again, turning a sim into a witch is outside of the topic of this thread. This thread is about manipulating memories. So, it sounds like you want to find or start a thread about adding skills, and another about turning a sim into a witch using SimPE. Note that these may be fields inside of the sim's user data. |

That was the easiest fix ever, for some reason I thought that only memories relating to other sims had to have a subject. Silly me. As for the other two issues, I'll get on with making new threads. Thanks Mootilda
