hey all, been dossing about on the forums for while now, but never reared my head, or so to speak. i have only done the terrain and most of the terrain painting, xcept for the grass area etc.

the plan of this map is to have a a city area on one side of the river and the higher echelons of society on the other side etc. i will also be writng a story for the town/city when i get round to it, but for the the time being, here are some screenies of the terrain etc thus far.

hope you like what you see thus far.. more to come when i get around to it

Well let me be the first to tell you, your terrain sculpting and painting is one of the most realistic I've ever seen, and I'm sure most would say the same. I looks like I'm staring at a painting rather than a world.

Good Job How did you do it?

The only thing that bothers me is the blue in the river water, what is that? And the grassy area between the mountains and the river. It should have some large hills and cliffs, because it would conform to the terrain better, because having steep mountains drop onto a flat plain seems a bit strange. Other than that. Purely AMAZING.

Why did I move here? I guess it was the weather.

how did i do it? half a jar of nescafe instant coffee and a entire free day heh

well, the idea of the mp is that it used to all be the mouth of a river into the sea, but due to a dam being built a fair distance down the river, that the water levels lowered and that a certain rich family took advantage of this free land, settled down and made the new land "liveable" and built the new town on it as it were but it will be fleshed out for the final product

updated the first post with newer pics, i did a rehaul as i wasn't entirely happy. the plan is to have the town side on the left side of the map and the city side on the right side of the map. i still need to touch up and finish the terrain paints, add more cliff/hills etc and decorate this wonderful piece of art :P

if anyone has any suggestion etc, please feel free to post.

edit: if anyone would like to be a beta tester for this map when i eventually get it all ready etc, please feel free to mail me or post in here and i'll send you a download link etc when i am ready.

Sorry for some reason I could not reply to your email, so here is what I wrote:

We'll review the world, but the world reviews go on the magazine since they take longer to write and review. Ouerbacker reviews the worlds so if you've seen his worlds, you know you are in good hands. Also while it's in the making we will put it on the worlds in progress page.

Why did I move here? I guess it was the weather.

okay, so hit a stumbling block, i buggered somehting up and the sa ve was corrupted (uh-oh!) so i have leanrt to save and create back ups every chance i get heh.. anyway, so i have to rebuild the city area, fortunately it was just roads and lot placements, no finer details otherwise i might have made the evening news for some sort of crazy man stint.. anyway.. i was ondering if anyone was up to the task of creating houses?

i know it is alot to ask, but it will help me like you wil never know heh

anyway. ideally, i need a couple of different 10x10, 15 x 15 starter homes for the rags of society, so the housing will look similar as they are government built and made on the cheap and to have a sort of desert/suburban/run down look about them.

anyway, back to CAW have to relay roads and lots grrrr

No offense at all, but the houses look a bit... bland? And skyscraper doesn't seem to fit there. I would be up to house creation, but only a few. I have ideas though. I'm thinking Rocket Boys (Coalwood) style?

the houses shown, the grungy ones are in the slum area, real run down area and as you progress through the streets the houses get more up market as you go along, or atleast that is the plan the skyscraper is the start of the main downtown area, more of a note for me really, a marker, if you will, so i know where i am for things etc, if that makes sense? also stilll need to do the terrain paints for the residential areas and place trees and objects, so it is early stage of development

rocket boy, eh? sounds great
