Default Flamebay stove brightness
I'm working on a new kitchen of recolours and thought I'd try doing some appliances to go with -- I've never successfully managed to get this Flamebay stove to show up correctly, though... I think it's probably somewhere in the TXMT (is that right? I always think of it as the "Ninja Turtles" settings) or something, but the stove always turns out way too bright, compared to the actual recolour (as pictured below). Is anyone familiar with this?

Yeah, it's probably the TXMT. There's a great work on materials by Pixelhate here: http://modthesims.info/t/316260 Helps to understand what all those properties do.

*puts on serious learnin' glasses* Thanks, Lamare!

@Lamare , you were right on the money. I actually need to make it a little lighter now! >_<
For anyone reading this for a solution, the settings I tweaked are covered in Part 1 of the tutorial.
