Default Sims 3 to Medieval Conversion
I've created a new tutorial for converting all those Sims 3 Create A Sim objects to Medieval.

It can be found here, Sims 3 To Medieval Conversion Tutorial.

It's short and simple (at least I think so).

This thread if for questions, comments, and suggestions.

Thank you so much for this.

I'm still having a problem with the greyed-out grid button when I select the casp. I've downloaded the latest version of S3PE and tried several older versions. I know this has been a problem with some people. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Sorry, total newb at stuff like this too.

Do you maybe have "hex only" checked at the bottom?
If you do, uncheck it, and the grid should be available.

Yup, hex only is unchecked. Still not working.

Hmm.......if you have the latest S3PE do you have the newest casp wrapper that Grim recently uploaded as well?

The purpose of this thread is to get people such as yourself modding Medieval. I'm glad to have your question. Hopefully I can figure out an answer. I need a little info first.

What does S3PE give as a preview? If you could post the output it may help me discover the error.

What version of S3PE are you running? x86 or x64? What OS?

What file, specifically, are you trying to convert?

I'm sorry, I don't understand your first question (I'm painfully a newb haha)... I'm not sure how to tell what version it is, but it's the newly updated one (from 5 days ago) I got from here: http://www.den.simlogical.com/denfo...opic,189.0.html

I'm running Windows 8, and I'm wondering if that might be the problem.

So far I've tried testing testing various Anubis360 hairstyles, and tried 5 different ones, so it's not a matter of bad downloads.

What I've noticed is, the grid option works fine before I add the dll.

The x86 or x64 is whether you're running in 64 bit or 32 bit. So Windows 8 64bit or 32?

The S3PE version is correct to use my updated wrappers. Any earlier CASP wrapper will fail.

Can you post me a copy of what your preview section in S3PE says when you don't get the "grid" button?

For example:

Haha oh okay, sorry for being dumb @_@ well I'm running 64 bit. I've downloaded the most recent version of the casp wrapper. Erm...preview section? No message pops up or anything. I'm able to open the file, just not do anything with the grid option. So it just looks like this whenever I open any file up (attached)

The Wrapper isn't even being loaded. Have you tried any of the other wrappers here? I have a feeling it may have to do with your user permissions in Program Files.

The preview section is the grey area to the right. If my wrapper loads correctly I get the output I posted above. If I use the default wrapper I get S3PE stack trace error information. If I run with no wrapper at all I would get your blank output. Which is also why there is no grid button available.

Try using one of the other wrappers, and see if they work. I have a feeling they wont. Make sure you have administrator privileges to the Program Files directory. Perhaps post me an image of your S3PE directory, or check yourself to make sure the CASP wrapper is indeed being copied to that directory.

Hmm. I've actually already tried to see if the other wrappers made any difference, but they didn't. I downloaded the wrapper again just to see if it was a bad download and no difference. It's definitely copying into the folder (it asks me permission to overwrite the file). I've tried fiddling with the security settings and disabling the firewall for the program and running the program as administrator, but no luck yet. I'm not sure what else to do.

A couple more questions. Does the DTTB wrapper work on DTTB files (_XML,ITUN, etc...)? Will you post me a screen grab of the properties of the s3pi.CASPartResource.dll? Just the general tab.

I've only briefly used Windows 8, but I don't think that in itself is the issue. More likely a security issue. You could maybe try downloading the zipped S3PE file. Then extract it to somewhere like your desktop, and try to run it from there with the wrappers. Something's in program files won't allow me to mess with them, but if I put them on my desktop they work fine.

I've tried to convert a clothing item but it didn't work (it doesn't show up in game at all) I did everything in the steps (at least I think so).

But I have a problem with the second part of the tutorial, I can't find no minimum in the professions flag, there are only true and false (as seen in this image ). I've selected false and clicked commit. Then I saved the package and moved it to the mods\packages folder, but the clothing item doesn't show up in game.

I don't know what to do, or what I did wrong.

I am using the newest version of S3PE from here and I have overwritten the original CASP with this one, and I am running Windows 7.

Can you please help me, oh mighty grimreefer :P

I don't know where the minimum part comes in ???
The profession should be set to true and in the drop down box below that are the flags for setting which professions it should show up for in CAS, and if villagers are allowed to be generated wearing it, and if it's allowed in the NPC CAS etc.

*edit* oh, I see, he says "select at a minimum the profession flag", he means you have to, at the very least, select the profession tag (set it to true).

Thank you, it worked

The hairstyles are a bit bigger then the head, and my Sim has bigger breasts for some weird reason , and is missing her feet, but it's only visible when she's in combat (I hope I figure how to fix this one somehow)
Is there a mod for separate feet?

The breasts are built in to the mesh. TS3 sims have shoe options separate to the body, which is why your sim has no feet.
Silverprinz did set TS3 shoes as accessories in TSM which looked cool in his screencap, but I haven't tried this yet and am not sure what they'd look like when a sim is moving, although Silverprinz said the toes pop out when they walk.
The easiest thing to do for this problem is to convert dresses that are long enough that you would never see the feet.
If you want shorter dresses or trousers, then scouring TS3 cc to find an all in one mesh if there are any or learning how to add the feet in milkshape, or setting the shoes as accessories is how you'd get round it.

TS3 meshes probably wont be available unless someone takes the time to fully convert them. There's morph differences, that, unless someone has figured out more than I, will cause every TS3 mesh to only fit generic sims. Too fat or too thin will fail.

I have found now quick fix for this problem, but can guarantee that the morphed meshes could be made t work in TSM.

My Sim is wearing long dresses, but the "no feet" are still visible especially during combat.
I have managed to find Silverprinz's post but I see no file attached . Does anyone here have the file, or should I PM Silverprinz for it?

It's the same as bringing the dresses in, it's just a casp edit for TS3 shoes. Try setting them as blusher. Silverprinz didn't upload his conversion because they're TS3 cc made by someone else.

I'm a noob here too, so don't feel bad. Just wanted to chime in and say that I had the same problem (grid buttoned grayed out) and I solved it by making sure the "Do Not Parse" button/box was unchecked. Hope that helps!
