I wish someone had made a useable "kids can cook" hack. I want to set up a sort of fairytale/literature-based neighborhood and lots of those kids don't have parents! I can't have Pippi Longstocking child, she has to be a teen or can't live by herself or make real food. Same with my Little Prince I'm planning. The only one on MTS2 looks like it didn't really work and was never updated for EPs

Completer sets help me feel complete!

I know there was a kids can cook mod over on Simbology, but I'm failing to find it at the moment (and a general search is turning up nothing). It was fully functional and worked with my up to AL game with no issues, the only drawback being that kids floated a foot or so in the air when they used anything.

Carrigon has a hacked kids' oven that can make anything. http://www.sims2workshop.com/index....t=oven#post5785

-a hack that causes sims to wear casual wear when sleeping in coffins.

I love the read to option for toddlers, but when there are 2 or more, it takes too much time to read to each one individually. I would love to see a sim read to a small group at the same time. This would also be great for stories with a day care, or just a baby sitter entertaining the little rug rats.

Having interactions such as kick,punch,stamp on,beat up,etc.

What if we are all sims and are being controlled by a crazy kid?

I don't know, a physical discipline hack? It seems odd to me that there are several spanking hacks but none of them are disciplinary

Not global hack, but hacked object:
A functioning surface(like sideboard) that is also working as buffet table(like EAxis buffet, I mean). I got this idea just after browsing 'The Secret Society of Woobsha'(hosts hacked TS1 CC, and they're nice and useful) yesterday.

**Suddenly I miss TS1 days.... haha.

I want a hack that allows you to drive your pet to work if they miss the carpool. Pets can't walk to work, so if they miss the carpool then they're screwed.

A hack that makes it so when the game finishes a load screen it always stops on pause.

Stages with more heights available than just the standard 4-click version... maybe a stackable 1-click stage, so you can break it up the same way that terrain can be manipulated.

Mod that stops sims from sitting in chairs when they read. I want them to go to a comfortable couch or easy chair. It makes no sense they would go sit in a regular chair. And reading at the kitchen table is very annoying. No one does that.

Well, I'm sure SOME people do. I read at my kitchen table, though usually there's either food involved, or I'm studying (need the space, often need to use 2-4 books at once). But I agree, it'd be nice if Sims would make smarter choices when reading. It'd be nice if they made smarter choices with seating over all.

I would like a mod which lights all fireplaces at community lights, a bit like the one which puts community lot lights always on. Perhaps just in the Winter, but all times would be cool too. It would be nice to build a cosy lot with a working fire.

I want a mod to make Sims SHUT UP ABOUT COLLEGE ALREADY.

I like to play families with lots of kids, and there is noooo way I'm gonna play through university for all of them. And every. single. day. of their teenhood their parents' wants are clogged with multiple "x goes to college," "x gets a scholarship" and I just can't make them happy.

I at least managed to find a mod that takes away the "be uneducated" fear. -10 000 ASP??? And it inevitably rolls on their birthday, meaning as soon as the sparkles fade, they collapse and go into desperation? As funny as aspiration desperation is, screw everything about that. But in my current family, the mother aged into a crappy elder because on her birthday 2 of her wants were taken up by kids going to college and the remaining two were weenie little +250s.

It's gotten to the point where I'm almost ready to learn to mod just to get rid of it, but the modding world may as well be Simlish to me.

The option to change transportation from taxi to walking and back when out and about. Look, ya gotta take a taxi from Strangetown to Downtown. It's a long way, okay. But then ya gotta call a taxi to walk across the street from one shop to the next? Really?

This would be absolutely nothing but cosmetics, of course, and I imagine that it'd be a pain to do because there'd have to be some sort of check to make sure an owned car wasn't getting abandoned along the way. But it'd be a pleasure for those of us whose concept of sim geography gets bent into pretzels by the current coding.

Set up rooms so a sim gets a book then has to pass the seating you want used. Or have the books in a separate room from other seating. Quite often they sit at the closest chair which can occasionally glitch dining or desk type chairs making it unusable. Other times it's the routing, watch the direction a sim turns, then move seating or books so they will head in the right directions.

And remember that a chair immediately on the other side of a door/arch is 'further' from the bookcase than a chair in the same room ten squares away.

Modding really isn't as bad as it seems, if you have a (very) basic understanding of programming. It does involve a lot of "oh my god I'm too stupid for this, I suck, this is a waste of time", but then you figure it out, and it's great

There are a lot of want-oppressing mods out there, maybe you could download a few and look at them in SimPE. I find I learn a lot by comparing mods to the original code (objects.package), because I can see the changes made. Sometimes it's way beyond my skill level, and sometimes it's enough to give you a pointer of where to start.

I'd very much like to see a mod that creates a "woohoo service" where you can just call them up and the NPC will woohoo with your sim for a fee. Mortimer Goth is awfully lonely, he could use some time with a nice lady.

^This is why I have ACR and certain Sims, playable or otherwise, who are designated as "escorts."

I'm mostly found on (and mostly upload to) Tumblr these days because, alas, there are only 24 hours in a day.

Lucidity: There is already a mod which nixes those - nocollegeobsession by Pescado at MATY. It will be in the hack directory for whichever expansion pack you have.

I think there's such mod somewhere(can't recall where, but it's 18+ site IIRC...).

I'm not seeing it in the directory for Apartment Life. Unless I'm missing something, which is probable because I scoured MATY looking for it (I figured if anyone had such a hack it'd be him) and never found it, and welp

I'll keep looking. This must be done. Thanks!!

I took two intro programming courses in university and they also went way over my head but I probably retained a couple of basics. Enough to understand the joke about the programmer's wife sending him to the store for bread and eggs, anyway Maybe I'll give it a shot if I can't find this...

I took a short class in programming in high school, where we essentially copied the teachers code in visual basic, so if you took two you're probably covered :P

I wish there was a hack that let you select landlord for an apartment building. All of mine have the same landlord (that in itself bugs me, because you can't be in seven builds at once, or even on the same day since they're all over and you reasonably do something at each one) and he's a total grump. Any attempts to interact with him in person just gets you into negative points. Which I wouldn't mind for some places, but not every apartment complex.
