This user has the following games installed:

Sims 2, University, Nightlife, Open for Business, Pets, Seasons, Bon Voyage
Default Problem With Energizer
Since installing Free Time, one of my sims has had problems using the Energizer--even when he's at platinum, he experiences negative reactions and his motives begin to crash the moment he steps into the Energizer. Just installed free time, currently using NO hacks or cheats, Sim in question has a secondary LT Aspiration (Primary is Knowledge, Secondary is Pleasure), and has used his points to get Slower Social/Fun decay. Has something been changed, or is this an error?

I've seen this as a reported bug in Free Time. They broke the energizer with Seasons, maybe the did it again?

I'm worried that my latest Salvation Army donation will result in homeless people looking like sluts from the 90s.

actually, i've been having the same problem, but with every single aspiration award some of my sims can't use the thinking cap, energizer or elixir of life, etc. and after some time, it works again.
i tested with custom content disabled, with kids or elders, in gold and platinum, with pets in the household, without pets and a hundred other things. i even tried a new installation and applied every patch in the correct order. it seems completely random as to why they can or can't use the aspiration awards
does anyone have any ideas how to solve this?

Nirnaeth, I believe you have some problems with your game that are not attributable to game bugs. Please do this FAQ and let us know at what point the objects become usable again. All of these items work for me with the exception of the energizer which I haven't tried out yet.

i tried everything from the FAQ, up to testing without user files and re-patching the game. and while it didn't help with the problem, i finally realized what made the aspiration rewards act funny. it's the pleasure 2nd aspiration. every other 2nd aspiration works, but with pleasure selected my sims get only the bad effects from the aspiration rewards. too bad, i liked writing restaurant guides :/

I'll check that out in my game today. I have a few pre-FreeTime sims that haven't selected a second aspiration yet. I'll let you know if I run into the same problem.

I have some other sims with secondary aspirations, but different combos--so far this is the only Sim I'm having trouble with. Anyone who has seen this as a reported Free Time bug, could you direct me to where that was reported?

Ok, it's not just the energizer, and my sim does indeed have a secondary 'Pleasure' Aspiration...grrrr! So, new question: does anybody know how to change the secondary aspiration?

Use the renu-u- sensorb and change the primary aspiration. It resets all the tick boxes (where you pick second aspiration and such). It may backfire initially and make them grilled cheese..just do it again and it will stick.

you can also reset the lifetime aspiration feats with the orb and reassign them, or at least it worked for me

no because you don't have to change your primary aspiration, you can reset the lifetime points independently from that

Thanks for this link!
My Sims have "false platinum" aspirations, so when I try to use the Elixir of Life, they age. I hope this fixes the problem!!

It should fix it since the negative effect of the elixer is to age 3 days.
