No, no. That's a separate bug that I've read about but haven't had yet.

In this case, you can click on the register, click the buy option, and the Consignment Specialist will talk to you, but the store window never pops up at all. Not a crash. Just an absence of store.

Reseting the lot or the sims doesn't help. Replacing the lot doesn't help. Once it hits a family, that family can no longer use Consignment Stores at all.

The consignment store always shows up for me. But I've had the bug that Kweri mentioned. I couldn't sell anything, then found I had to cancel so that I could sell again.

And that's why I didn't mention also the consignment store to level up the inventing career. It does nothing in my game. I think one item counted and that was it. I'd like it to be fixed.

This is exactly what was happening to me when I had an item with 0 or less days in my consignment list. I would select buy, talk to the person, and the action would just drop after my sim had talked to the person as if nothing happened.

Are you sure you've checked the consignment list to make sure there are no items listed with weird days?

Kweri -- you're a genius That totally worked! I had a lettuce with "-5" days, and cancelled it and can now consign again.

I'm so confused! How can you check the consignment list if you can't get the shop dialogue?

The Flying Fighters is an object with fight planes on it. They spin around. If you have 100% of the inventions then you should have it. Otherwise, invent until you get it. The hygienator provides a small boost to hygiene of Sims that walk over it, and gives them a moodlet depending on (a) the scent it's set to (b) the traits of the Sim. So Neurotic Sims always hate being sprayed. Computer Whizzes like it being set to scientific scents, but Loves the Outdoors Sims like it being set to natural scents. Etc. Small feature, but charming.

When you click on the register, if you have items up for consignment you'll have three options.

Browse
Buy
Cancel Consignments

The last one is the one to pick to check if any of your items have a weird day count.

Someone has to be manning the register to get the options. If nobody is at the register and it's within working hours (9-5ish?) then something is bugged, perhaps a stuck sim. If you happen to know which sim is supposed to be at the register, you could try resetting them. If there's a sim manning the register and you don't have those options... I'm not sure how to fix it.

Oh. Damn. That option doesn't show up. Possibly because the Sim who consigned the glitched objects is long since dead? (I've been running this world for testing a long time to really iron out creases). Even with his resurrected ghost, I only get the Buy and Browse options.

Edit: Okay, super odd. A Sim who has never visited the Consignment Store or learned an object producing skill - has the option to cancel the consignments, but the others don't. I guess he inherited those consignments after my Inventing Sim died?

That is very, very strange. I have no idea how inheriting consignments work after death.

Does this mean you were able to cancel stuff and get the store working again for your other sims?

I really hope this issue is addressed in the next patch EA puts out.

Yep, once my Charismatic Doctor took his first steps into the store and cancelled his dead uncle's consignments, everything was again right in the world. :/

I've had this very weird glitch that my inventor did not invent anything...she was up to level 4 and was inventing inventing inventing, but never got the option to acctually produce anything!
Then i gave up on that.
Anybody had the same glitch?

Sorry if this has been asked before but, how can I quickly move the scrap I collect to the bench? Its just letting me move one unit of scrap at a time which is very tedious.... X_x

edit: Oh never mind I figured it out silly me... You just click and drag the arrow on the scrap box...

But another question.. Why aren't my earnings going up even though I'm selling inventions in the store? My job experience bar hasn't done anything either and I'm at skill level seven...

Doc, it's a bug that EA is supposedly working on. In order to get your experience bar up, sell them in the Inventory tab...consignment sales don't count.

Still, doesn't that kind of take away the whole point of the consignment store? As a way to make your profits on crafted goods steadily increase? I wonder if that's fixable by mod :/

It just has to be a glitch. Why on earth do we need a consignment store when the sales don't count? You earn quite a bit more money from the stuff you make, especially if you have the Suave Sales(wo)man trait.

Do we actually get any money from the promotions, or is it just the titles?

I've just started in the inventing career. I had a teen who has just grown into a Young Adult. I was wondering about how to actually join the career.

I have gone to the consignment store and clicked on buy then transferred my first 2 items - the smasher - selling for $3 and $5 precisely

After reading this forum it seems that these sales wont go towards my career path, when I become self-employed. Can you let me know how else to sell items as I'm not sure what to do with them in my actual inventory apart from send them to the buy section in consignment store.

Thanks

After you make the items they are automatically placed in your sims inventory (or family inventory for large items). Go to your sims inventory, click on the item and drag it to the sell box in your sims inventory. A box pops up asking if you want to sell, click yes, you make money and your inventor profession increases! Do the same thing for large items in the family inventory.

It's strange that they put a consignment store in the game when it can't even do the one thing it is supposed to do.

Thanks - i'll check. Not noticed the 'sell' box in the inventory before, but then i've not been looking! I presume this works with most things that you create in self-employed sector and things you pick up. Handy to know.

The consignment store is a bit of a waste of time really, its not even an interesting place to visit for moodlets either.

You can sell anything a sim has in their inventory, even old homework!

The sell box is just the big square area on the left hand side of the inventory. I call it the "sell box" but I'm not sure of it's real name

Actually, I agree. It only takes a week or less to make a Sim wildly rich as it stands. A new way to make money isn't needed nearly as much as new ways to spend or lose money.
