Default Shiny things...
I ran into this problem once before (on a project I've since abandoned because I couldn't figure it out). I'm trying to have shiny bits on one of my meshes. I've figured out how to make things shiny (though my example is probably a little bit much; I'm going to tone the shine down), but I haven't figured out how to avoid the weird reflections with the coloured blocks and writing on them:

I'm sure it's probably something simple that I'm missing... but I don't know what it is.

Any ideas?

Never mind. I found the answer, thanks to Pixelhate's nifty TXMT references here.

In case anyone was wondering, the weird blocks with writing showed up because I didn't have a texture set for the reflection. Once that was in place, the shine showed up and actually looked shiny:

Hooray!
