I'm totally going to try this again.

My sim started in Riverview. However, my game would not save (error code 12) so, I moved my teenage sim to Twinbrook.

In less than two sims weeks, I made $8,000. How? Stealing cars. o xo ;;;

This time around things will be different.

> No car jacking. XD
> Harvesting but not selling anything gathered from community garden.
> Selling only produce that sim grew in personal garden.
> Selling fish, "found" objects worth less than 1,000 simoleons, wildflowers, etc.

My sim uses the library computer to chat online. XD

Anyway here are her traits:
Loner, Kleptomaniac. Lucky and Artistic.

*************

Before I start, I should let you know that to do this challenge properly, you'll need a few mods. I would suggest these. They're awesome even when not doing the challenge, so you should download them whether you plan to do this challenge or not. :P

More requested no autonomy mods for Pets and Generations by claudiasharon, if you have Pets. You can download other mods there if you want, but make sure to get "csnoautoeatharvestplant" at least. It stops wild animals from eating your plants.
--
Curfew Disabler by Sniper296. Does what it sounds like, disables the curfew. This will come in handy, trust me. I disabled it for both teens and children.
--
Twallan's Mover. Allows households without teens. Similar mods can be used if you have any.
--
And Twallan's Woohooer. Allows teens to WooHoo with other teens, or adults. I would also suggest KamaSimtra so your sims can WooHoo for money. This mod is NOT required, but I prefer having it for realism.

You should have at least Ambitions, and optionally World Adventures
I do this challenge with almost all EPs.

*************

You're a runaway teenage sim, from a country far away. You've fled from your country to the city of Bridgeport to start a new life for yourself. But you didn't anticipate how hard it would be to start off with nothing but the clothes on your back and your trusty sleeping bag. Will you make it, become successful, start a family and grow old with your partner and children? Or will you perish in the dark, gloomy alleys of Bridgeport? Only time will tell.

You don't HAVE to play in Bridgeport, by the way. It's just what I like to use, any town works.

*************

RULES:
You cannot build any kind of shelter for yourself until you have earned the money to do so.
You cannot have any electronics or appliances, or cell phone access (put it on silent), until you have a home (at least 1 living, 1 bath, and 1 bed room).
You cannot have a part time job until you have a child, or are a Young Adult. You can't have a full time job until you have a home (at least 1 living, 1 bath, and 1 bed room).
You cannot cook/shower/etc on other people's lots or interact with anyone until you're a YA. You're a runaway, they'll report you as such right? If your social meter gets low, you can interact with children, teens, or pets. Or you can have your own child.
You can shower and use the restroom at any public place, such as the fire station or gym. You can use the fridge at the fire station one day a week (up to 3 times) for snacks (steal too much food and you'll get caught). If you have Seasons, you can have your sim go swimming in a lake/ocean, and slowly drag their hygeine bar us with TCE on. This is what I do.
You can start buying food from the food truck, concession stands, vending machines, diner, etc. once you have 500 simoleons saved up. But only every other day.
You can dumpster dive, rummage through trash cans, and salvage furniture. You CANNOT replace the ruined furniture by clicking on it and clicking "replace", ever. But seats, tables, etc. are still useable. Don't use a ruined crib for a baby, otherwise the baby will get "stuck" and you'll have to resetsim.
Your main food sources are plants and vegetables that you grow yourself, but you can harvest wild ones if you want. No "special" plants allowed.
You can fish all you want, and sell those to the grocer.
You can use a taxi. You should buy a pink flamingo decoration with each taxi ride, which is worth 5 simoleons, and put it in your family inventory each time you use a taxi. You can never access these.
You can buy a bike when you have the money, but no car.

*************

And now on to the actual challenge!
The goal here is to survive. There are no "points". You're simply trying to survive, start a new life for yourself. You should aim for having a high paying job, at least 1-2 children/grandchildren, and a big house. The main thing you're doing is getting money the "old" way, by fishing, collecting and gardening, and by selling scrap metal.

*************

So to start out. Make your sim. I usually play as a female because it's easier to have babies if you download WooHooer, it adds difficulty. But you can play as a male if you wish.

They can look however you want, but the hair shouldn't be "glamorous". Ideally, it should be in a ponytail, cut short, under an ugly hat, etc. Clothing should be dirty looking, the werewolf clothing that came with SN is perfect if you have that EP.
You may have any traits, but no more than ONE that would make things easier. Those include traits such as: Loves Heat, Loves Cold, Green Thumb, Mooch, Angler, Kleptomaniac, Loves the Outdoors.

Place a 10x10 lot outside of the city somewhere, where no one can find you. You're a runaway remember? Move your sim onto this lot. Buy a sleeping bag (or bed if you don't have WA), then set your simoleon amount to 0.
(This is done by pressing control+c, typing "testingcheatsenabled true". Hit enter. Then enter "familyfunds [your sims' last name] 0")

And now you begin your new life. I usually start by going to the junkyard and getting some scrap to sell, so I can buy a few basic vegetables to plant and eat.

*************

I hope this isn't too much, LOL, that turned out way longer than I thought it would. I promise it's not really hard to remember in game.
Well anyways, let me know if you decide to do this challenge. ^^ Screenshots of your sims would be cool.

Do we allowed to change the clothes and hair after they grow up into YA and get married?

Default Sage McGhee
This is Sage McGhee for my Runaway Teen Challenge. She ran away after parents died and the social worker found out she was pregnant. They wanted to put her in a home and have her give up custody of the baby when it was born since she was only 15. She grabbed her back pack, the bike her mom had as a teenager and what little money she had and made her way to Starlight Shores. Sage figured she could get lost among the many people there and no one would realize she was alone.

Sage visits the library to learn and download her homework. She enrolled in homeschooling so the school didn't have to ask to meet her parents.

She shared a picnic at the Festival

Sage is a gather, so she finds plenty of food around town to eat and seeds for planting.

Sage found a tent in her foraging.

Doing homework and fending for yourself is hardwork. Sometimes she just wants to give up.

Sage fishes with a smile, remembering the times she and her dad fished together.

Yummy grilled fish.

The unfortunate consequences of being pregnant. Luckily she isn't showing yet, so no one really notices.

One of the teens she met told her there has been some talk about a girl in town who is pregnant. He told her to be careful since she is starting to show.

Sage decides to have a small place built near the garden she has started. She knew once she started to show it would be harder for her to sneak around town. Her little place was tucked away in the park and surprisingly no one noticed when the little place started to take shape.

Soon the Sage was experiencing labor pains. She could not go to the hospital, so she had done a lot of research about at home birthing.

Welcome to the world Winston McGhee. Sage could not yet afford a crib and had no luck finding one in her foraging, so she bought a swing. Winston doesn't seem to mind.

Sage's little family must survive, so she must take him along with her during her foraging. Poor baby, the ground has to be uncomfortable.

These creepies tried to eat up the whole garden during the full moon. Luckliy Sage had manage to harvest quite a bit before they damaged the garden.

Before you knew it Sage was aging up into a Young Adult. They survived the last 4 years and Winston will be aging up soon and able to go to school. Now Sage can concentrate on a career.

I neglected to take more pictures during Winston's toddler time. The challenge was enjoyable and complicated once she had the baby, but we got through it and poor baby laid on the ground a lot. Once it snowed Sage was pretty much stuck in the house, so she invited a friend over when she really needed to forage to watch Winston. She was always trying to keep from being smelly, that was one of my biggest challenges. Food was pretty easy since she gardened. She sold just about everything she came across so she could pay bills and buy items. She also chose the Alchemist career and that will be a challenge in itself. I am continuing playing Sage to see where her life leads. Will she find love and have more children?

Current Location: TwinBrook
Current Funds: 3,000+ Monies
Skills: Cooking - Beginner, Handiness - Beginner, Writing - Beginner and Painting - Beginner.

Progress: Fawn is currently without child (thank god) and is having a decent time. She has no potential lovers (possible baby daddies) anyway. With the loner trait social is the least of my worries. Fawn doesn't shop for groceries. All her food is harvested at the community garden (hopefully she'll make it through the winter). She has not stolen any cars or sold any wild crops harvested from the town's garden. She survives finding/stealing lesser expensive objects, metals, gems, bugs, minor pets and etc. For the most part, Fawn is very busy preparing for the very harsh winter to come and has little time to "socialize" in person. She spent some time using the library's computer before stealing her own. So, I guess, most of her friends are strangers. As for school. she registered as "home schooled" but barely completes any assignments. Is she lonesome? Yes. Will she ever have children? Possibly not. Due to her own deep-seeded childhood trauma, she trying avoid any "American ideals" and high hopes. Ya know? Her favorite location is the graveyard of course. Perhaps one day...she'll see a ghost.

Home Stages:
Stage One - Small 6 x 6 Shed. 1 floor. One bedroom/Living, Kitchen and Bathroom.

Stage Two - Small 6 x 6 Shed. 3 floors. One bedroom, Living, Kitchen and Bathroom and open space (basement). My sim uses the ladders instead of stairs. XD Cost effective!

1st floor

2nd Floor

I finished day one and she ended up with 328 simoleons. lol not a bad start. She got lucky and found a dishwasher while dumpster diving, as as well as some unrefined metal. Are we aloud to send those to get them smithed?

I'm recording it in my blog: http://evelynwn.wordpress.com/

Oh sorry. I was so worried about trying to not make the post into a novel (fail) that I left some stuff out.
I just cancel the interaction for her to go to school every morning, but I guess you can send them if you really want to. It wouldn't make much sense for a runaway from another country to be able to enroll in school by him/her self, but it might make things more challenging.
Or you could remove the school entirely so teen sims don't have to attend school at all, then you won't get "bad grades".

This is my sim's little 2x2 shack, after maybe a week and a half in-game. The shack had room for a crib she found at the dumpster (with moveobjects on), and she also placed her sleeping bag in there at night to keep warm.
I'm on week 3ish now I think and she's in a bigger shack, maybe 4x5, which has plumbing, an easel, a recycled loveseat, crib/sleeping bag and a xylophone for her son.
She's already almost at level 10 for both Fishing and Gardening skills, and she's a self employed "fisherwoman".

Can you give me to the KamaSimtra woohoo for money mod? I can't find it and i want to do the runaway teen challenge!

I am going to try this. A couple quick questions.

1 - I want to play a male and have no plans on getting anyone pregnant. Is there some sort of...balancer?...I can put in to take the place of having a kid?
2 - I like playing a supernatural...all of them...as well as aliens. Is this allowed? What kinds of restrictions for each supernatural? I mean witches can make food and can also convert items to gems so that is pretty major. So maybe stay human until young adult? Not sure what to do in this situation.

Ophelia Nigmos (created by Rosewin) was the first sim I played doing this challenge. Her back story

Lesson learned! When hiding from your crazy Aunt Olive, don't hide in the Curious Brother's Time Machine! Now Ophelia is stuck in the past and dare not draw attention to herself. Maybe one day she can make it all right, but til then she needs to make it on her own! With only her sleeping bag and her wits, she needs to survive the "Runaway" Teen Challenge.
I put her and her starting lot up at the exchange (and I misspelled her name among other misspellings)
http://www.thesims3.com/assetDetail...assetId=7725002

I'm going to have her become an inventor so she can make her own Time machine and travel forwards to warn herself not to enter the Curious' machine. Of course this will unravel the time/space continuum, but crazy does run in the family!

Ophelia (wearing custom clothing) standing in front of her home ... at the exchange she's CC free and the lot is basically empty.

Her lot by the lake in Bridgeport

I've been making various supernatural sims and I think it should be OK, it's for our enjoyment and they are fun to play.

So far Fairies are the easiest type to survive too many perks and when they want to settle in they can buy a Fairy House. Witches at first don't have the skills to get too much money (but I haven't played a teen witch for too long yet). Werewolf and Vampire teens are fun to play. My Werewolf teen seemed to live a troubled life (at least the way I played her) and Vampire teens don't have all their powers til the age up to Young adult, so it's still a challenge. So far Ghost teens seemed meh and I've yet to make a Genie teen.

They call me The Seeker.

So I have a few questions I'd like to get clarified, and also a few extra mods that might be useful.

Questions:

1. With pets, we can catch and sell the birds and lizards and snakes we catch, right?
2. Can we use supernatural teens? I can see the challenge with a vamp sim, but a genie sim would be easy as they can magic food in, fairies can make crops grow faster...
3. Can you have two teens, like Twins?

Some fun mods that may help:

If you have Supernatural EP installed I recommend the No More Zombies Generated At Full Moon mod, in comes in two flavors.

Also I like to use the Minor Pets Won't Run Away so my lizards and snakes don't escape.. so I can have like a trained gecko that lives in my pocket or something for extra flavor.

If you don't like too many mods but you use already master controller nraas mod, you can create a Young Adult and then edit it in CAS to go back to teen age. nraas/mastercontroller/advanced/edit in CAS

Have you left clicked your sim then clicked the nraas option and made sure teen whoohoo was enabled? I had this problem awhile back.. also for some exta flavor you could set whoohoo to risky whoohoo so even regula whoohoo interaction could end up getting your sim prego.

P.S. I never turn story progression off and I have no problems getting my teens prego, just go into nraas and double check everything.

So I decided to start my own Runaway Challenge story. So here is what I got so far.

My Sims name is Dororo Grey he comes from a medium class family, not poor but not wealthy eaither, he has a sister named Juliet.

One day Dororo's parents where discussing Juliets future and discussing what college she would attend, Dororo decided to ask his parents about what college they thought he might attend, his parents answer was "Are you serious, your not going to amount to anything in life, unlike you wonderful sister, we never even started a college fund for you." they laughed and returned to discussing Juliets future.

Looking back on his life Dororo realized that his parents and sister never treated him nice, they always made fun of him and said he was stupid... thats when he made up his mind to runaway, he went up to his room and reached under his pillow whee kept a travel brochure of Isla Paradiso his dream place, he has always wanted to live there. So he collected the money he had been saving for 6 years, just enough for a bus ticket and a boat ticket to Isla Paradiso, and maybe enough for a small plot of land to live on.

So he packed his backpack, a few changes of clothes and his sleeping bag, and climbed out his window...

I am also doing the challenge I am very much enjoying it so far until my game was being stupid and i had to uninstall everything and re install it. then start my game all over again.... Anyways this is my sim and her back story! and how far I am so far

My sim is named Shonna McCann. Her traits are Good,Over emotional, Perfectionist and Green Thumb. She likes Pop Music,Her favourite colour is Purple and her favorite food is Cheese steak. Her star sign is Pisces.

Shonna belonged to a rich family, so she never had to worry about money or lacking anything. In the future just like her older siblings she was due to marry someone equally rich in aid to help the company as well as the person's company she would marry. Shonna although she liked her life, she couldn't help but want more then what she was getting. She dreamed of having her own land and growing her own fruit and veg, fishing and painting. It was not the best way to earn a living but it was something that sounded so peaceful, she wanted to earn her way and build her very own house and meet someone special. She dreamed of a love so passionate and equally exciting that would last forever. By the time she got to her late teens, her parents had started to set her up with eligible husbands for her. Until one day she had finally had enough daydreaming about her dreams and of course her parents trying to set her up with a rich company's son, so she told her parents that she didn't want to marry a rich company's son. They agured and before she knew it she was kicked out of her house. Now shes homeless and with very few clothes shes managed to take with her and a sleeping bag she grabbed from shed. She was hurt and upset that her parents would disown her like that but at the same time excited to finally get her dream going after so many years of dreaming.

She found herself a piece of unclaimed land and finally starting her life. First thing was to make some simleons so she could get some seeds from the market.

She went to the store and got her seeds. Then went home to plant them.
