Default Windows 8.1 professional edition vs. home edition and RAM
Does Windows 8.1 professional edition help 32 bit applications access more RAM, compared to Windows 8.1 home edition? I think I read that 64 bit windows 8.1 home edition allows 32 bit applications to access 4 GB RAM max, but the professional edition bumps up the max on 32 bit apps, to I believe 8GB RAM. Can someone confirm if this is true?

It doesn't sound right. If we call something a 32-bit application because it represents addresses as numbers of (at most) 32 bits, then I can't think of what running it under a different OS could do to raise that limit.
