Fresh install suggestions
Hi fellow simmltons! (I hope this is in the right place to post.)I'd like some suggestions for a fresh install (what are good mods, hacks, & defaults to have, etc) on my brand new computer in a couple of days. My biggest concern is to have things that help to avoid game corruption & help the game run more smoothly. I would also like to know what other interesting actual gameplay mods, hacks, & defaults there are (i.e. Inteenimator.)
(I will be making a backup of just Maxis files- then I would like to put the mods/hacks/defaults in.)
I have all EP's & will be installing all of them- no stuff packs.
My current plans are to install (if I find that all are latest EP compatible):
HP's Megahood
Antiredundancy
Notownieregen
Pregnancy Clock Controller
Any suggestions to have a wonderful simming experience would be greatly appreciated.
I have been simming on & off for the last 10 years (WOW!) I just love this site. :-)
Thanks thanks, simmerinos!

Make sure you patch every cd/dvd single EP you have to install and the one SP if you have it and this thread has most of what you are looking for. http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=536240
Install and patch in the order of release to get the best out of it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Sims_2
All try packs are already patch and UC is already patch so these you don't have to worry about.

That's a very broad question and totally depends on your style, what bugs you and how you play.
We just posted a number of critical and bug fixes https://www.modthesims.info/show...802#post4546802
For things like defaults, do you want modern, historical, maxis match, realistic etc? While I love my medieval defaults you may not, so see if you can be a bit more specific.
Some of the mods that I love for my play style are the visitor controller, The Simlogical School system, The shop at home coat rack, Christianlov's Closset Gussy Up and transporter mirror. Dolphin's Control This Sim.

I'd use Tarlia's hoods for your uber/mega hood instead of HP's. http://meetme2theriver.livejournal.com/63030.html I've been using them for over 3 years and love them , also very versatile. I previously used HP's and prior to that the SaraMK ones from MATY. A discussion on Tarlia's was had here http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=518063

Exactly the kind of responses I've been looking for.
Joandsarah, I am really down for any suggestions. I love variation, so I found your suggestions to be nifty.
Thanks, all!
