Default How to make a townie temporarily playable
Does anyone know how to make a townie temporarily playable? I'll explain what I want to do:

Since female Sims can only get pregnant when they live on the household I'm playing, I want to add Bella Goth (Strangetown) to a household that only has one male Sim, to get her pregnant. After the birth, the child would stay with the father and Bella would be townie once again. Is that possible to do?

The best way is to get one of the teleporters, I use the cat myself. http://www.simlogical.com/sl/Sims2P...Teleporters.htm

@marka93, the problem isn't making her playable, it's making her non-playable.

Can't you just use boolprop and shift click 'make selectable' and then when you're done 'make unselectable'?

Also the teleporter cat can make her unselectable afterwards. Unless you mean something different by 'playable/non-playable'. Either way, I've done that with townies before to make them have babies and it seems fine.

@PanAm103 the cat will allow both selectable and unselectable and a whole lot more.

@Bigsimsfan12 @marka93
Didn't know the teleporter cat could also make unselectable. I guess boolprop can do the job. I can ask her to move in through the in-game method and then if I use boolprop, will she become a townie once again?

@PanAm103

If you use the in-game move in option boolprop will not make her a townie again, you have to use a mod to make a sim a townie like the teleporter cat.
The only thing boolprop will do is make her unselectable.

So, after she moves in and I do what I want, I can use teleporter cat to make her townie again?

The Simblender has the option of turning playables into townies, and to move her in (without bringing any funds with her).

Creations can be found on my on tumblr.

Yes, you can use the teleporter cat to make her a townie again.

Trust me, you want that cat!

Or use the option you can find in Debug Mode to spawn the townie gun. It's what the mods are based on.

The blender can move in sims, as well as making them temporarily selectable, but you can't turn a sim into a townie with it. For that you need the teleporter cat or shrub (same object different mesh).

I use the sims as a psychology simulator...

Yeah, maxon, but for some reason when I spawned the townie gun I couldn't figure out how to make the dormie I'd moved in and grown up back into a townie. The teleporter cat was easy and I got it first try.

Yes, I prefer the cat too (not least because it's in the catalogue and easy to get at) but I was just sayin'.

The option to turn a playable into a townie or downtownie is under the Family options on the simblender. I've used it several times to get rid of playables I no longer wanted to control.

I use Merolas Mind Control Mirror. It makes anyone selectable that you want and as soon as you switch to someone else, they become unselectable again.

They should use The Sims 2 in psychology....it could work wonders.
