I believe it's finished, but he's working on the mts upload. I know from experience mts takes a lot of time to prepare, and since the world is finished he might just as well make it available for downloaders. It probably won't make much of a difference on the upload here. Lots of people don't like uploading from just any filesharing site on the web.
Oh yes, as a reply to tizerist I don't think it makes much difference. There's always those little things with any big project. It depend on what the downloader wants I guess. Making it a city removes some of those wild animals spawn, while having a basecamp makes it work as a travel destination.

Thank you both for the clarification. I'll be installing it this afternoon. It looks beautiful, and I was just a tad gun shy after reading it was complete, and then finding out it might not be. I understand issues might still be addressed by the creator after it's out in the wild, and perhaps issues are discovered with more game play, but I expect that. I was more concerned with it being a beta. Not that I mind a beta, and enjoy the process. But I approach playing a beta very differently than I do something I regard as final.
So off to Barcelona in the next few days. Followed by a jaunt over to SimLau Isles as well.

So I guess it's a direct choice between the two? I would choose the Traveler version personally, and use Traffic mod to ramp up the taxi's if needed. But it's quite baffling, as fellow city-world Bridgeport can be used with Traveler? As far as I know that is, I dont use BP myself.

I just had one of my sims go on vacation to Bridgeport. No Base Camp in there yet so when he arrived the new game came up and asked where he wanted to live this Semester I had him rent an apartment.
Once he got settled I added a Base Camp and changed a couple of the houses to Ownable and will have him purchase one as a vacation home so he can go back and forth. Eventually will use Traveler to have him switch hometowns and link Bridgeport to his original home town so he can go back to visit friends and family and visa versa. I'm not sure how the latter will work with Bridgeport though as it's my first attempt linking a city for travel/visiting back and forth. But it's working fine as a vacation spot so far

While testing I had troubles with horses, and I know they are a problem. That was part of what Nilxis thought would be gone when making it a city instead.
Edit: horses is a game problem though, most likely not something Nilxis can fix, just for the record

Such a shame how silent this thread has become, but Nilxis's Saaqatoq V2 is out!

Also by coincidence, Point Ouerbacker (Reyes County) is also out! It's the Northern Californian town you've always needed!

Ooh, Point Ouerbacker is looking really nice. This is still in beta, albeit late beta, though, right? I don't mind testing new worlds, just wanting to be sure what to expect as testing and moving my legacy are two different things, unless this is pretty much the done deal.

The world is basically done as is, but there's just a bit of cosmetic polishing (i.e. fine tuning the weather, adding in an intro, adjusting flavor texts, minor updates to lots).
I would test it for now, but a short legacy/challenge would not be out of the question.

Cool. Downloading after I type this. it really looks great in your photos. I can't wait to dive into a new world. Thanks for all your hard work and sharing this with us. World building is a major undertaking.

I've been editing Saaqatoq V2 this weekend and I really enjoy how it's done. It's small, not much space for growing, but I like small lots anyway so not an issue. It's just stunning.

That Californian world is perfection! I've been looking for something exactly like that for ever!
Does anybody know if an empty version of the University hood is still available anywhere? I mean completely empty, without buildings.

As for your question, does this answer it? There's a couple others floating around Tumblr, but I don't remember them.

I'm planning on moving my favorite Sims so they can experience all the seasons. Can anyone recommend a nice city world with a New York feel that isn't too laggy and pretty updated? Doesn't have to have all EPs required (though I have all EPs installed) but would like it to be relatively up to date.

Have you looked at Galadrielh's Devil's Port? you can find it http://www.galadrielh.com/downloads...n/devil-s-port/ . It does use all the EPs, but you said you had them already. It's a pretty drastic remake of Bridgeport, far more moody, and with better routing. Not sure it's exactly what you're looking for, but it is a city.
There's also some nice stuff on My Sims Realty, http://www.mysimrealty.com/Sims3_Worlds.html with several worlds such as Evansdale, Storybrook County, and Anne Arbor that provide both central "city" areas and some surrounding suburbs and rural zones as well. All are nicely made. None are a hardcore urban NY remake, however.

Thanks both!
Oh man, the Big Apple looks great but yeah, even my beast of a computer might have a hard time running this world. But I think I may have to try it, at least for a traveler world!
@eskie227: I'm looking for an urban (city), northern Atlantic ocean climate type world. Not necessary New York but I love how that particular city looks at night. Beautiful cityscapes, great views for my Sims to take photos, small lots, and a nice suburb area away from the city. And regarding EPs, I guess the most important for me would be IP so that the beach area has good routing. Thanks for the Devil's Port suggestion. I hadn't seen that world and it is definitely dark and interesting.

Grey Meadow ( http://www.thesims3.com/assetDetail...assetId=7753406 ) and Fortress Rock ( http://www.thesims3.com/assetDetail...assetId=5024401 ) have quite "city feel" and if you remove population (fairies, vegevampires and such ) you shall get a city feel of the North. Also St Claire* is worth trying. Simsreality worlds were mentioned above.

@olomaya, if you're looking for something with both city and suburb, I would suggest a visit to My Sims Realty. There are several worlds that would meet your needs, and they are typically well made worlds to play in. I didn't link to those two beautiful NY worlds Elaine pointed out, because while they do look absolutely wodnerful, they are difficult to play in as a "playable" world, due to size, assets, and routing. They are great to visit, but a bear to live in, even with serious hardware to run on. And that's a fault of the game engine unable to handle that level of detail in a 32 bit address space. But they were ambitious projects, and quite remarkable to look around in.
One other world was also mentioned earlier in the thread, which I think is also a remarkable, but still playable, city world is Barcelona. Here's the original post:
Well worth the look. One of the most beautiful worlds I've ever seen.

@Don_Babilon big thanks. I always forget to mention that >.> I had issues with this updated version thought, however I cannot recall what exactly has happened. Maybe it was just CC-mess on my disc at the time.
@eskie227 and... well, it's a Mother of the Problems - most of these worlds are build for the show, not exactly for playing, unfortunatelly. Building an interesting *and* trurly playable world is a challenge itself, which the game does not make easy in any way.
There were a few attempts to create "really playable city" focused rather on functionality than pure design (e.g. http://www.thesims3.com/assetDetail...assetId=7154242 ), also Dark Harbour ( http://myworlds-rflong7.blogspot.co...0&max-results=7 ) empty city-world with CAW files avaible.* It always tempted me badly And if you're mini-minimalist, there's also small empty Arkham by Martine (She seems to be inactive but downloads works): http://martinecoppens.blogspot.com/...oad-arkham.html also with CAW.
* link to populated save file" http://deontaits3.blogspot.com.au/2...population.html

I am still playing the Generations version of Grey Meadow for which I was also a tester and contributed some of the homeless NPCs. I still think it's one of the best versions, later adjustments for the later EPs made it quite cluttered and personally I think his last revision for IP doesn't make much sense.

@ElaineNualla, as far as livable cities go, one I've found that is quite playable is coasterboi's Angel City on the exchange http://www.thesims3.com/assetDetail...assetId=8274654 which is a reworking of Los Angios, a bit smaller, with far fewer routing errors. It's actually a standard choice for a world in my game play. The feel and architecture capture the Southern California feel very well, so not a good match for a NY setting, but it is another city choice that is playable as well.

If you want something that's super East Coasty but don't mind settling for a smaller town, try One Plumbob's Brightpoint save:
http://one-plumbbob.tumblr.com/post...nt-save-general
You can probably fit in a few smaller skyscrapers if you want to get a feeling more similar to one of the smaller cities like Portland. Again, not exactly what you want, but I generally find that most larger city worlds don't really attempt to go for the North Atlantic feeling.
