Nice to hear someone that have EAxis original stuff & gameplay very rare these days. Since 8 years of TS2 came out, most sims 2 players have realistic/photoshopped/not really resemble EAxis' stuff CC.. as a mandatory

:hand clapping: Applause to you Miss/Madam/Mr? Try breaking the world's most Sims 2 CC downloads record

I think I've downloaded too many CC but I've still got around 2.97 gigs.
Mostly are hair, clothing, essential mods, buy mode objects, plenty of build mode objects... that's it. I download CC that has high quality looking and really essential to my game. My weakness looking at pretty, high detailed, useful, unique CC, can't resist then download that CC immediately

If I don't use that CC at all, I'll delete that CC.

I organise like crazy as of lately. No duplicates, scanned and maintained like a boss, no picture/non-package files, folders labelled according to how my mind works, etc. Preened, 64.0 GB on the mark.

I just went on the Downloads preening spree - right after the latest downloading spree, first one in years - and it took me 10 days (read ten) to preen my just over 3Gb of stuffz.
Times 21,3 (which is how many times over 64Gb is than my measly 3) ... I'd be preening for forever!

Though interesting, the story about my eternal preening efforts will remain untold, cause I'm affraid I'd get another preening idea just by talking about it...
So - to the topic, which is a much safer area for me to talk about. Downloads craze is over in my case and I won't slip into another one for years, I hope. Maybe by then there won't be anymore downloads around the net for me to download. Maybe there will be a new shiny TS4 that will occupy me with its own CC problems.

To answer the OP question: I download everything. I need to have something from every walk of CC to make each of my Sims unique in appearance and behavior. Since I've managed to stay under 3Gbs until just recently, I'd say that I have more self-control than even I thought I had.

But a new obsession and a new CC item I started hunting for lately are skins. I've found amazing skins on GoS and elsewhere and am now enjoying the effects they have on my Simmies' looks. A completely new experience for me, since I usually don't care much for how things look.

'Nough said. Off to gawk on my Sims some more They are so pretty!

Oh, and just one more thing I have to add. That latest downloads spree is all your fault, MTS Simmers. Your constant talk about CC, your links and your preening ideas definitely inspire me. But since it all ended with those beautiful new skins, how can I hold it against you? :D

I'm a CC junkie, but I do dislike the realistic look. Maybe my computer just isn't strong enough for it, I don't know, but it always looks weird in my game. Give me Maxis Match any day. Clutter extracted from the game is my own form of crack, I can't get enough!

64 GB of CC? And I thought I was bad with my 10 GB of stuff. Now I don't feel so bad! If it wasn't for mods and cars I probably wouldn't have more than 2 GB. Pescado, Fresh Prince, and TreZillah are responsible for my game taking upwards of 10 minutes to load, but at least they behave almost like real people and have some cool wheels to drive around in!

I used to be completely addicted to downloading anything--ANYTHING!-- that would make a house look more realistic. Outlets, posters for a teen girl's walls, kitchen cabinets with pre-designed clutter, you name it, it's there. This is because I used to have a sims series that I wanted to be the most realistic house possible, so I was always downloading for the tiniest of details. Even after the house completely crashed and became unplayable, I still kept downloading that stuff just in case it bounced back. The worst part is, I rarely used this stuff in other houses because it was so much work to set up!

I've got one or two things on MTS, but most of my stuff is on my main site here:

I used to be into clutter...I'm not anymore, thank god. Because those things clutter up your catalogs...and it takes FOREVER to scroll through empty wine bottles, random pencils, erasers, books etc to get to....anything else. Nope I've cured myself of that haha. My thing right now is extracting textures from video games and turn them into objects, but mostly wallpaper and floor tiles. I have an entire set of Tomb Raider walls I extracted from the Anniversary game , I can actually create Egypt as a vacation destination for my sims! Making walls is honestly my favorite thing of all.

@labellavienna , using this http://forum.jfade.com/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=58 makes finding anything a snap. It's a very easy to use , fast and customizable utility.

I have about 40 gigs of cc total , but most of my game incarnations are run with 5-15 gigs, depending on what that hood has use for. I have buku hair ( almost all female hair, I have one hairstyle for my male self sim and a couple of uglifying ones , mullets, greasy, various balding designs for male sims that annoy me( think John Burb with nose hair, a big wart , a swarming cloud of flies and a mullet), and about 2 GB of female hair). I have lots of other bodyshop content (517 megs of adult female default size clothing) , many meshes, skintones and textures for various custom bodyshapes. I have 558 files in my accessories folder. The standard surplus of eyes and makeup. 1135 files , 343 folders and 260 megs of hacks/mods. 461 files, 134 folders and 71 megs of posing hacks. 1667 files, 140 folders and 537 megs of paintings and posters. 2391 files , 104 folders and 744 megs of living room furniture. 480 files , 93 folders and 581 megs of vehicles.

My major addictions are to items that are urban in appearance , and preferably gritty urban ( Pixelhate, Cyclonesue, Psychosim , Mocha and others) and items related to businesses. I have 137 megs of music items , for music/instrument stores, recording studios and concert venues. I have 88 megs of barber and salon items. 51 megs of movie theatre items. 154 megs of medical items , 309 megs of clothing store items , 245 megs of alcohol related items ( and I don't drink, lol, but my sims partake a bit) , 422 megs of animals for zoo's , farms or aquarium's , 227 megs of items for adult business's for ..errr...never mind , 83 megs of bakery stuff , 193 megs of market ( farmer's , fish etc) stuff , 87 megs of convenience store and snack stuff
129 megs of church related items ('cause after my sims sin , and they all do, a few like to repent) , 169 megs of gym and sports stuff , 72 megs of prison and police stuff , 217 megs of restaurant/fast food stuff , 51 megs of garage/mechanic stuff , 85 megs of drug store stuff , 79 megs of gambling/casino stuff , 54 megs of sweatshop stuff ( and that IS an a , not an e , my sims not being big believers in child/teen labor laws and such) , 75 megs of shoe store stuff and another fourtyish folders of other business themes and applicable cc for those enterprises.

Hairs (I have all the hairstyles created by newsea on all the sites she's been on, thanks to the booty, and a lot of raonjena's), clothes, eyes, food and skins. I also have all of iCad's Totally Plastered collection, and all of her door and windows recolours in the Madeira colour, and loads of default replacements. I also have a huge weakness for Lots & Houses, I know it's not really CC, but most of the time I don't feel like making my own houses, and I have 158 houses. My game can't take much more without them disappearing ...
My Downloads folder has 14.012 files (that take 4.75 GB) and I wish I could have more, but if there's more than 14.039 files in it the game crashes. Poor Archie is from 2008, and has just barely 1 GB RAM, but I can't afford a new computer and it works perfectly despite being a four year old laptop. I suppose that's the power of Mac

For me, I have recat mods done up for me for each of my anygames. I have the main game with 64, my maxis match has a measly 25, my shared game has about 48 or so (it changes weekly because the game is shared by everyone in the shop), my just-mods-and-extractions game is a terribly tiny 10 gb, and I still have free time to help look after my boyfriend's three-year-old and help run a computers shop out of my basement.

As of today, I'm on a house kick! *morbid smile*

Pooklet'd hair. Mods. Maxis furniture recolors. Clutter, especially if it's extracted from the game. :3 And I have a weakness for poseboxes... anything I could use to pose and take pictures of my Sims. I don't usually download furniture or build mode stuff (except for patterned wallpapers or furniture recolors), because I like what Maxis gave us.
I have 5,605 files in my downloads folder. 8D

How well does a computer run with 64 gigabytes of custom content? Although some machines have several gigs, i know no one runs a 64 gigabyte block of RAM. Do you notice any freezing, hard drive thrasing, complains of low memory? I know the game runs in about 1 to 2 gigs of RAM. I want to be "addicted" to dozens of custom clothing outfits, but I'm reluctant to stress the computer system. My current set of CC is dominated by fix-a-bug, change-that, hacks and scripts.

My Archie has 1 GB RAM, and can handle up to around 14.000 files in a single folder. Of course, he's a Mac, but maybe you could use 28.000 files as a guide?

@labellavienna , DJfade's collection maker works out of game. You run the program from desktop. Say you have a folder for kids toys and clutter , that folder has 371 files in it. With about half a dozen clicks you can put all 371 files into a folder that will then appear in game. You can customize the icons and names for your folders , you can later add another folder with any amount of files to your recently established kids stuff folder. You can decide if you want the folder to show on Res. lots or Comm. lots or both. It allows you to batch add , so you don't have to do it individually. The fact that it works out of game and that it lets you batch add are incomparable time savers/organizers. The better organized your dl's are , the more valuable it will be to you.

For example , I decide to make a large grocery store. I already have sub folders in my business section of my downloads for grocery , drug store , bakery , butcher , convenience store, florist , pets, market (fruit, vegetables, fish) , cosmetics , housewares etc. From desktop in about five minutes I can combine all of this into a jumbo collection folder called Albertsons(or whatever local grocery store applies). Then I go into game , find the collection folder and get to it , no hunting for things required , it's all in one place. It does not work on bodyshop items and walls and floors must be individually placed( I don't mess with that at all) and the same for painting/poster recolors.

I agree! Clutter from the game is so perfect. I mean, I just DLed some cinder blocks and empty cardboard boxes from Night Of Dreams site. When will I ever need those in my game was a minor almost non-issue when I saw how perfect they looked in game.

So, Alijah, where do you get your fix? Few links, a couple of creator names, maybe a nice, well-written tutorial on how to make your own from the game extracted clutter?

I'm afraid this clutter stuff will eat me alive. I got this idea how to turn clutter into hobby related collector items (yes, including the cinder blocks! tinkering!) and now I'm downloading clutter like crazy and spending days in SimPE adjusting its pricing and cataloge categorization.
My newly re-skinned (and beautiful) Sims are abandonded, I'm afraid, until I can give them tons and tons of junk to collect. And then recolor that junk. And then make shops to sell the junk.
Junk, junk, junk - and I'm powerless to resist it!

(Seems my downloading spree isn't over yet. I was premature in announcing its end...)

labellavienna, that tool does the same thing as in-game categorizing tool, but it allows you to create collections from outside of the game, which is very useful if you have tons of stuff to wade through in game to make a collection. This way you mark an entire folder for a collection at once and can do so with the help of all the search tools from your OS or any external search tool you may use. I used it recently for the first time (for my new shiny clutter, of course ) and it made me happy.

Does this category program give you the option to hide stuff from the main catalog? I'd love to hide some of my more specific items--especially my decorative clutter, haha!

Anyways, I don't really have a lot of go-to sites, since I'm only just recently branching out from the MTS world and finding LJ/Tumblr/Dreamwidth. I stumbled across that link in my OP (the GOS directory, http://www.digitalperversion.net/ga...hp?topic=2119.0) and have been haunting it for the last few days. I have to say that most of my clutter came from the booty, I think.

My favorite part of the LJ/DW/Tumblr section of the community is when you find one journal, it links to another, and then another and then another and before I know it I have 18 tabs open while I try to browse everything. I recently found wcif-sims.livejournal.com and it's been a ridic addiction these last few days. I've found a lot of great finds there and as I said, once you find one journal there are generally a ton of links and credits and resource lists to browse, too.

I'm not very SimPE literate though, so I don't know how to extract or recolor my own items. If I did, I'd never get anything else done.

That's actually fairly easy to do with SimPE. I have a tutorial link somewhere. I'll see if I can find it.

I no longer come over to MTS very often but if you would like to ask me a question then you can find me on tumblr or my own site tflc. TFLC has an archive of all my CC downloads.
