I, truely, believe that TSM was intended to be a Stories game. EA went further because a plethora of Sims players suggested a Medieval theme. As it stands, TS3 is incapable, code wise, of allowing this experiance.

So come TSM. But a lot of people wanted TS3 in Medieval. EA really will never do this. The majority of players prefer to play "computer barbie" in modern times.

Really, this is a Stories game.

It's meant to fit a particular niche. I don't believe EA took seriously the niche this game was intended to fill.

TS4 will succeed TS3, no question. However, many parts of the TSM engine are already in the works for TS4 as far as I can tell.

TS4 will succeed? Really? Seriously? Somehow, I really, really doubt that. TS3 is a mess, a SERIOUS mess! It's so big of a mess that many loyal, long time Simmers are dropping out. Some are refusing to buy ANYTHING from EA, and many have outright demanded their money back for the base game and ALL of the expansions they've wasted money on, because the game just won't work for them, even on brand new computers with excellent graphics! Do you think those people will be interested in waste even more money on TS4? Doubtful. I really love the Sims, and have been playing since the very first base game went on the market. Seeing it degrade from Sims 2, that ALWAYS started, NEVER crashed (at least for me), and was 100% reliable, to what Sims 3 has become, is heart breaking. EA could do so much with it, but prefer to cater to the console crowd and ignore the PC gamers. We ask for seasons, and we get Unicorns! Really EA? Unicorns? Are we a bunch of eight year olds? The TS2 Pets expansion was annoying, at least for me. The pets destroyed my Sims' furniture, peed on the floor, got into fights, dug holes in the yard, the strays rolled in the flower beds killing the plants...It got to the point where I put fences around all of my Sims' yards and kept the gates locked so the strays couldn't get in! My Sims never had pets, not even if they asked for them a hundred times! The TS3 pets look even more cartoonish the ones in TS2 did, and they are STILL annoying! They dig hole, eat vomit, and garbage, and pee on the floor! EA spent too much time making the horses pretty, and didn't improve the other pets at all. I ask for Seasons, which make the game so much more realistic, and I get pets. Thanks a lot, EA! I can also do without "Showtime". I have no interest whatsoever in having my Sims perform on a stage like Hannah Montana! What a lame idea! I wonder if we will EVER get Seasons, something that should have been a part of the base game. I mean, really, EA, what kind of town has beautiful, sunny, 80 degree days all the time? It's boring! So, my point of view, EA should forget about TS4, and work out the bugs in TS3 first. THAT would be a real accomplishment!

I agree with you 100%. Not being able to control the other family members can get to be really frustrating...especially when you can't make your spouse stay home long enough to make a baby! But, I do like the simple lifestyle of the Medieval Sims. It leave more room for other things. My only problem is the collecting chores. I enjoy doing it. I enjoy doing it so much, that while my physician is out collect leeches and herbs, I neglect to get my daily responsibilities done. It's the same with the Wizard and the Blacksmith. I'll end up going to Free Play, so I can gather to my heart's content...well, at least until my Sims have to pee, catch some Zs, or sit down to eat. I like to have my Sims carrying around a bunch of field rations and deer jerky so they can eat on the run. It's a time saver! Now, if I could just figure out a way to make them go and pee in the woods, and nap under a big, shady tree!
