Sims 3 Final Patch Alert
Warning

The final Sims 3 patch is on its way. I repeat, the final Sims 3 patch is on its way. We haven't been given a date for release, the contents of the patch or what will added or taken away but it's coming.

While some lovely free content added to the base game would be nice, I'm hoping someone finally sat down to play the game and tried to see just how much the features don't work together, how bland some are, or how much content has been locked away from players. Basically, the blending of the EPs and unlocking things that have been locked away from players.

Eh. I ain't NEVER updating anyway. I have no confidence that they'll fix some of the still-pretty-frackin'-bad bugs, and besides, if it means that Twallan's mods are incompatible, I'm having none of it.

If it means that I can't have Twallan's mods, will I update?

Twallan usually updates his mods anyway, however I see no need to patch unless they include something in it to knock my socks off. My game is fine the way it is

Sorry to say.
As of yesterday Twallan stopped working on his mods.

So no patches for me either.

Twitter.

After the ITF patch (sure, let's call it a patch), people should have seen this coming. :p

Twallan has left the building, so many people will not be updating, and that is just fine, I assume the game is relatively stable, with or without.

I hope he really does this one final time. Otherwise, when I see the patch...

Twallan has to come back and update his mods for us. Not because he's obligated or anything - he isn't, of course - but it's a beloved cliche, you know? Guy with experience goes into retirement, massive horrible thing happens, he's called back in to fix it and conquers his personal demons and wins the girl and it's a happy ending.

Release notes for the new patch.

- break twallan's mods
- add advertisement for TS4
- minor bug fixes

Unless somebody steps up and takes over twallan or twallan comes and does a comeback just this once I'm not updating.
Even though the OCD in me will be twitching knowing there is one more update out there but I don't have it

What of EA told Twallan to retire, so that there could only be one!

Time to play patch poker, the snack version. I'll wager one box of sno-caps...

...that I'm not going to patch.

Seriously? This is absurd. One day after Twallan announces he's retiring? I know I sound paranoid and childish, but this had to be on purpose. They just want us to play their game modless and vanilla. Bleh.

I'm far more interested in what they will take away, and with Twallan gone, what's the point?

So when the patch comes out I'll have to choose between using AwesomeMod (which I've used since it first came out) or Twallan's mods? I don't think I could play my game without AM or Overwatch, MC & Register. Well, I guess I'll just skip the patch and play until AM expires, then be done with Sims 3 forever.

I hope Twallan comes back and updates his mods for the final patch.
If that doesn't happen, hope is not lost because Twallan gave the community a huge gift in the way of his source code!
There are people willing to work to ensure his mods live on.

I won't play the game without his mods, so I'm willing to contribute any way I can.

Considering how long it's taking to release since the last patch and the upcoming release of TS4, it's likely to be final, unless the royally screw up again.
