Default Hacks/objects to help toddlers build relationships
I don't have Apartment Life, but I wanted to play the Newsons, and marka93 kindly extracted them for me. I gave them their characteristics, relationships, etc. based largely on what I read on the Wiki. It said the twins Georgia and Garrett were close, so I made them nearly friends, thinking I could make them friends in-game. Well, I hadn't played a family with two toddlers before, and found that there were hardly any ways for toddlers to interact with each other. My only EPs are Nightlife and OFB, so I can't use the FreeTime activity table, which I think is what most Simmers would use. All they have so far is a CC toy garage, which I think is based on the doll's house. So far they haven't played together with it much. Ginger and Gavin will be hard pressed to pay for a dolls' house, but maybe the good people of Veronaville will give them one. Otherwise are there any other hacks or objects out there that would increase the opportunities for toddlers to interact with each other, or indeed with older children. Something to let kids help to teach them to walk and talk would be nice.

While I'm at it, I'm sure I saw a hack somewhere to stop Sims smashing the dolls' house. It might be one of Squinge's. It would break my heart if somebody gave them one and then Ginger or Gavin smashed it!

P.S. When looking through my downloads I found I'd downloaded a couple of kiddie pools. Maybe they'll play together in that.

All Sims are beautiful -- even the ugly ones.

With out AL the only way I know of is a dolls house.
The garage is good, simply tell them to play with it. The Newsons come with a decent amount of money, so if you put them into a small place they do okay for themselves. To be fair I think you should make the twins at least friends, they may start of as best friends but I can't remember and you should cheat them some money if you started them off really low. The pools replicates the splashing in a puddle, a solo activity.

If you don't mind cheating to up the relationship, you could use the sim blender from simbology to set their long and short term relationships.

http://modthesims.info/download.php?t=255127 Rebecah has a variety of toddler size furniture, some is modded for them to receive friendship points, needs & aspiration. This one is relationships.
