I did a complete reinstall, going straight to the latest patches (I installed the post 1.22 patches for the expansions as well). After installing, I ran it in Bridgeport for about a day. By that time, the Ultra Speed had slowed down to a crawl for no obvious reason, so I bought a new CPU. It was still stupidly slow, even though my CPU never goes above 80%, memory is never more than half filled, and FPS is rarely below 60. So I removed all the store content, started a new game at the edge of Riverview in a premade house. Crashed 5 minutes later. So I started anew in Hidden Springs on an empty lot (wanna find out about those green people). Crashed in 10 minutes. Then I gave up and posted here.

So irritating, I know so much about computers, but with errors like this, I'm helpless...

Looks like I should give up. With only Sims Base it still happens (after 5 minutes). I'll take out Awesome, but I really don't like playing without it...

@Orionos: I bet one of your mods (perhaps Awesome Mod) isn't compatible with 1.29. If it still crashes without any mods, I would recommend remaining the My Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3 folder to something else and then trying. If it still crashes, it has to be hardware. I would try running memtest86+ overnight to see if it catches any errors.

Thanks for the prompt help. I've been running without problems on the base game without Awesome. I got an epiphany when I realized the problems may have started after I updated from 1.26 to 1.29, which I only did after Awesome was claimed to be compatible. Apparently not.

The game was running without problems with same set up and content as above before Dec 19th, and it started malfunctioning at 19th for some reason, crashing during loading of a previously saved game. I did a full re-install, following the same steps as I took when I first installed the game, and it worked normally afterwards in the 19th. However when I started playing today (22nd), it crashed again during loading saved game.
I got these messages when I opened the log analyzer. Still, the game was functioning perfectly in Dec 19th despite the log recording the exe error.

Here's a copy of the exception file created after crash

@Setarium: You need to update your game.

@mstea: Have you removed all mods? Did the crashing begin after installing Pets?

It doesn't lie. Either you'll have to upgrade GPUs or uninstall Pets.

Any idea what the last one might mean? It crashes after about an hour of playing, and I've tried taking out all my custom content and updating the driver and it didn't make any difference. My computer is three months old so it should be good enough to run the game.

Try running the game without Pets/Lemmikit.

I went onto the Sims launcher to update but it says my game is up to date and I got my laptop recently so I don't understand why the graphics card needs changing.

Any help would be appreciated.

Soph - The Intel HD graphics is not supported by TS3 (not for the base game, nor any expansions, but it can technically "work" pre-Pets, though it shouldn't be used even with the base game). You do not meet the game's requirements.

Please note that download threads are not for game help and support.

While this program can be helpful in troubleshooting certain issues with your game, download threads are not meant to provide solutions to game problems. Please do not post your crash log stuff here to ask for further help - please use the Help section here at MTS, starting with this: Game Help:Sims 3 Game Problemwiki and following the instructions, each step, in order. This FAQ: Game Help:Sims 3 Crashingwiki can also be helpful. If you continue to have problems even after trying ALL of the steps in the above-linked two FAQs, you can post a new thread in the Help Q&A forums (there's a link at the top of every FAQ) and we will be happy to offer you help for your problems one-on-one. Make sure to include a detailed list of everything you've tried to fix the problem (not just "I've done the FAQs" but a description of the steps you took, in your own words) as well as the summary version of your system specs, using the form you can copy-paste from this page: Game Help:System Specswiki

First you should try updating your drivers:

If it still crashes:
Game Help:Data Execution Prevention/TS3Wwiki

Follow the instructions for Windows 7 64-bit

I have a serious problem down here Mr. Ford:

My game crashes several times since i installed pets. The crash log analyzer results are this:

Crash Type: ACCESS_VIOLATION reading address 0x676e6172
Crash Address: 0x6a826efe "C:\Windows\system32\d3d9.dll":0x0001:0x00045efe

Do i need to update the directx or something?, update graphics card or could it be some outdated .package mods files?

Thanks in advance

It would help if you posted the CLA summary by using one of the "copy to" buttons.

Based on what you said, you most likely have Pets installed and an inadequate graphics device (most likely Intel GMA). You could try turning all the graphics settings down, uninstalling Pets, or upgrading your graphics.

upgrading? you mean updating graphics card or setting down game graphics settings?

Upgrading the graphics hardware. Yes, usually they are in the form of a card but not always.

I haven't been able to confirm that reducing the graphics settings helped with Pets but you could try.

Ok, i set down some things in the graphics settings of the game and it worked!

Its ridiculous the fact that the patch is not ruining the game... pets is the problem

Wondering if someone can help me make sense of this. I've been having problems with crashing for a couple weeks. I've upgraded my graphics driver and lowered the settings in the game but I can't play for more than fifteen minutes, and it will often crash immediately.
Thank you.

If you can't turn them down any farther, you'll likely have to uninstall Pets to play the game. I think you have a laptop so upgrading the graphics really isn't an option.

First off, thanks so much for taking the time to make this tool and then analyze all these crash logs people are posting. I know I sure couldn't do what you're doing, so I for one am grateful.

I've been getting random crashes pretty much since I installed on my new computer a few weeks ago. In CLA I'm getting two different reasons for crashes- one being a corrupted save (exact text: Corrupt Save Crash - Restore the backup save game or start a new neighborhood), which is sad but at least I haven't been playing any of them for too long. However, others are saying I need to update my copy of Late Night (Warning: Updates Available - The SimsTM 3 Late Night (6.0.81.009001 -> 6.5.1.011031))- which is kind of weird because the Launcher says my game is completely up to date. Is it possible I missed a patch while installing my game or something, or is it something different? Anyway, here's the crash log. (EDIT: This is the most recent one, but I have like five other ones from the past few weeks. They all seem to look similar though)

Edit again: After a little more research I found your other (also awesome) tool and used it to download that Late Night patch that seems to be causing problems. I'll make a new neighborhood to test and report back.
